1414. arkymalarky - 5/14/2000 2:12:26 AM That sounds Hawaiian. I didn't realize you were there already. Hope you're enjoying it! 1415. CalGal - 5/14/2000 2:22:56 AM Yes, I am. Yesterday I drove south from Laina and went all the way down to the 'Ahihi-Kina'u Natural Area Reserve and La Perourse Bay. I'm seeing if I can post the pics. 1416. CalGal - 5/14/2000 2:25:58 AM That's Lahaina and La Perouse, sorry. And today, I'm going to Hana and spending the night at a little guesthouse out there. I'm not nearly as nervous about the road--the road going down to La Perouse Bay was very narrow, so I'm prepped. 1417. Jenerator - 5/14/2000 2:27:53 AM I can't see the photo.;-( 1418. CalGal - 5/14/2000 2:40:20 AM Jen,
You can't? Try www.the_calgal.tripod.com/surferlc.jpg. Let me know what error message you get.
For those of you that can see, which of these shots looks better?
This
or this:
You can click on the images to see it full size. And "no difference at all" is fine as an answer. 1419. arkymalarky - 5/14/2000 2:52:01 AM Second one, definitely. That is if more ominous-looking clouds and darker water is a good thing. The first, if not. 1420. CalGal - 5/14/2000 2:58:52 AM I'm testing the software's "Instant Fix" option. Sometimes it's definitely worse; other times, like this one, it seems to be a minor improvement, but I like to check with others.
Are both pics basically okay? 1421. Absensia - 5/14/2000 3:02:16 AM Calgal,
They won't load for me, either. 1422. arkymalarky - 5/14/2000 3:04:37 AM Yeah, they're both good, but the second seems more vivid and defined. 1423. CalGal - 5/14/2000 3:09:27 AM Arky,
I think the improvement happens when both the software and I agree about what the focus of the picture is supposed to be. When we disagree, it means that I probably didn't frame the picture properly, so the software is trying to focus around a point that makes the real focus look terrible.
Abs,
Could you please try the URL I provide in a different window and see what happens? 1424. DaveM - 5/14/2000 3:18:25 AM Cal - I sent you an e-mail. 1425. Absensia - 5/14/2000 4:47:01 AM I tried that too, Calgal and got an error message. May be my freaking computer...It's been strange since the middle of the night. 1426. Absensia - 5/14/2000 4:48:20 AM This is what I get:While trying to retrieve the URL: http://the_calgal.tripod.com:80/
The following error was encountered:
Invalid URL
Some aspect of the requested URL is incorrect. Possible problems:
Missing or incorrect access protocol (should be `http://'' or similar)

1427. CalGal - 5/14/2000 5:04:44 AM Abs,
My guess is that it is tripod (the freebie site I chose).
How about this?
1428. Absensia - 5/14/2000 6:22:02 AM Cal..that came through great! 1429. joezan - 5/14/2000 6:25:27 AM
Beautiful pics, CalGal.
I trust you're leaving your computer alone enough to have some fun? 1430. rubberducky7 - 5/14/2000 11:41:19 PM Re: Message # 1426, Absensia.
while 80 is usually the port number (it is picked by default in most windows apps), try taking it out of the URL string next time. 1431. Hejira - 5/17/2000 1:49:37 AM test 1432.
