But even I didn't think the price tag (wars plus bailouts) would be TEN TRILLION and rising

On Face the Nation yesterday, Austan Goolsbee rather easy on the eyes! 40576. jexster - 11/25/2008 4:23:44 AM 40577. thoughtful - 11/25/2008 3:36:51 PM I don't understand why people don't understand. The change message was not change to something we've never had before, it was change from the mess we are currently in back to what needs to be done to set things right again.
Why is that a difficult concept for people?
In this time of total financial meltdown, would people rather O was filling his administration with newbies who knew nothing about washington and how to get things done and what needs to be done (like Palin???) or would they rather see it get filled with people of talent, experience, and depth of thought who have the gravitas to deal with the disaster? Sheesh! 40578. judithathome - 11/25/2008 3:52:28 PM Many of us warned that this would happen way back when he first announced in November 1999
Yes, we did. And I recall getting roundly ridiculed by Ace of Spats (and no, that is not a typo) for saying Bush was lying because of his blink rate and that he had never had a successful business in his life.
40579. judithathome - 11/25/2008 3:57:10 PM Thoughtful, you are SO right...he wasn't promising a new age of change, something the world had never seen before; he meant change back to SANITY.
I agree with you: I'd much rather see him appoint seasoned people who can start right in and try to reverse the damage that the last 8 years have wrought. HE is new to the job; better to have good counsel than flakey pie-in-sky neophytes around him.
I trust him to take charge and get things accomplished. This time 8 years ago, I was begging to move to France!
