Aw Wabbit, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! I'm glad you spent a lot of time with them even though I know that it'sstressful. I'm with my parents right now and they're doing great, but Mom tripped and fell over their dog this morning. So we know all these good times are very temporary. Being a grandma is absolutely amazing though, and Stan finally gets to be Grandstan. He has gotten his way even though people have tried to talk him out of being called that.

28900. wabbit - 12/27/2016 11:16:16 PM

Grandstan, yep, I can see that. Give your parents a big hug for me, they are so cool, I really enjoyed meeting them. Are they still way up the stairs?

28901. arkymalarky - 12/28/2016 2:19:26 AM

That was our last big family fight. When he fell I insisted that they sell that place and he not live in it anymore, and they wanted to piddle around about it and weren't happy with the prices they were being offered and bladdy bladdy blah, but they finally got it sold and live in a much more reasonable home for 85 and 80 year old people.

I will definitely send a hug on to them, and Dad sends his condolences about your dad. I told him about it when I was over there.

Jeez, Wabbs...so sorry to hear this...we're thinking of you.

28904. Ms. No - 12/30/2016 6:15:04 PM

Rabbit so sorry to hear about your father, but I'm glad you got to reconnect with family.

I'm with my folks in Hoboken for the holiday and having a very, very excellent time. I've decided that I'm never going home. Among other things, I don't have to work at it to get my 10000 steps a day

28905. Ms. No - 12/30/2016 6:16:23 PM

And dang voice to textthat can't spell Wabbit. Smartphone my ass!

28906. judithathome - 12/30/2016 7:19:35 PM

Well, I'm coming in early to wish everyone a Happy New Year...this particular one will be a huge challenge for me and not just because I feel we, as a country, are tottering on the brink.

But personally, I have no desire to celebrate the day...can't drink and feel like crap because of a UTI...just the perfect way to start Armageddon! :-(

28907. wabbit - 12/30/2016 11:10:17 PM

Arky, JaH and Ms. No, thank you.

JaH, me too, plus heart palpitations...stress and some dehydration, swell. No celebrating for me either, and no real loss there. I'll raise a glass of H2O to you before I go to bed and miss the ball drop.

28908. judithathome - 12/30/2016 11:45:06 PM

Jesus, who thought we'd all come to THIS? I have no hopes for the coming year...thank god I'm old enough that I may not last to see the deplorable end of the next four years...

If nothing else, this should be a cautionary tale...be careful what you wish for...he just might come as a faux Republican with no soul.

28909. wabbit - 12/31/2016 9:48:26 PM

Ah well, here's to a happy, healthy 2017 for all my fellow Moties, Happy New Year to all!

28910. judithathome - 12/31/2016 10:53:47 PM

Our neighbor, who is an astronomy geek, is sharing with us a very special New Year's Eve gift...he's bringing his telescope over when the moon rises tonight because there will a visible comet near the moon!

Is THAT great or what?

28911. winstonsmith - 1/1/2017 12:39:34 AM

That sounds really great Judith! I love telescopes. Science!

28912. wabbit - 1/1/2017 2:01:45 AM

Wish it was visible here, but the rain clouds have arrived. I got Dad out to see the ISS a few times over the last year, always fun.

Hey winstonsmith, great to see you!

28913. arkymalarky - 1/1/2017 7:23:48 AM

Happy New Year everybody! Stan and I are having a little 2 person New Year's Eve party and we did have champagne, so we're drinking a toast to our Motebuds. I love you all. I'm going to have a good year as long as I can have one, and live life close to home but do a lot of volunteer work and organizing work. I'm sort of actually looking forward to getting back into it after having taken such a break from the rural organizing and activism. If I retire at the end of this year, I'll have plenty of time to do that sort of thing. Anyway, I hope everyone manages to have their own personal good year this year and leaves 2016 in the dust. I actually didn't think it sucked until November 8th. It was a pretty good year for us up until that point, and then it was a great one two days later when we had our grandson. That's going to be my focus until I look up and see a mushroom cloud. Anyway, y'all, I hope you can do the same.

28914. winstonsmith - 1/5/2017 1:45:56 AM

Hi Wabbit!

28915. judithathome - 1/5/2017 5:39:46 AM

Well, Mother Nature didn't co-operate on New Year's Eve...it clouded up something fierce. So I missed my little treat. Typical of 2016...disappointment ruled.

Here's to much better year ahead...

Well...we can always HOPE, can't we? ;-)

28916. Ms. No - 1/5/2017 7:11:06 PM

Happy New Year! Just got back from Hoboken last night and am off to become a red-head in about ten minutes. Wanted to stop in and say how happy it makes me to "see" all of you. Moties are the best!

28917. judithathome - 1/6/2017 8:38:38 AM

I can just SEE you as a redhead! Glad you're going for it!

28918. Ms. No - 1/6/2017 8:36:21 PM

It's totally awesome!

Oh my god. That was sooo California. I suppose after nearly 30 years I shouldn't be surprised, but every once in awhile it hits me.
