10366. Magoseph - 7/15/2004 6:17:53 PM We lived on boulevard Exelmans and rue Molitor, not far from the Bois de Boulogne. The best memories I have of Paris is when we schoogirls went roaming up and down the Champs-Élysées on our own and taking in an American movie every chance we had. Our school was great in showing us the history of the city. My brother was surprised one year not long ago when he realized how much I knew about famous monuments and places. He said then--"I didn't know you were French after all."
10367. Macnas - 7/15/2004 6:42:29 PM Bois de Boulogne, very pleasant place. 10368. Macnas - 7/15/2004 6:44:33 PM My very favourite park in Paris is Luxembourg gardens. 10369. Macnas - 7/15/2004 6:47:06 PM My very favourite park in Paris is Luxembourg gardens. 10371. Magoseph - 7/15/2004 7:00:31 PM That should make your day, Mac. 10372. Magoseph - 7/15/2004 7:06:05 PM Sénat et jardin du Luxembourg
10373. Magoseph - 7/15/2004 7:15:14 PM See you later--it is time to watch Imus, read the Journal Sentinel, and at eight go and gauge the local political mood. After all this hard work, it'll be time for my morning nap before going up and down the basement stairs carrying stuff for my now-famous garage sale. People stop by here to ask me about it because Flexy has been talking about my business AGAIN... 10374. Macnas - 7/15/2004 7:28:10 PM I'm afraid I can only see the very last of those photographs, but I've looked at the source for the others. I look forward to lounging about and eating some lunch there. 10375. Magoseph - 7/15/2004 9:11:36 PM
10376. Magoseph - 7/15/2004 9:17:05 PM Post 10370 was deleted because the pictures didn't show properly and took too much space to scroll down. 10377. judithathome - 7/17/2004 3:07:09 AM Slow days in the Cafe, I see...
Have a nice weekend, everyone! 10378. Magoseph - 7/17/2004 10:49:38 PM Well, Juds, I had to give a rest to the audience, you know. 10379. judithathome - 7/18/2004 12:29:02 AM Loved those pictures of Paris. Wish I was there....
We are cleaning and doing yard work today. Well, I'm not doing yard work but Keoni is. I'm supervising. 10380. arkymalarky - 7/18/2004 2:40:41 AM We're cleaning too. Closets at the moment. It's the first day since I got back that I haven't had to go anywhere. Bob bought a trim-mower to pull behind the tractor, so I spent an hour or so at the tractor store in Hope yesterday. I don't know how I handle such unending excitement in my life, to say nothing of Bob, who's just giddy about the purchase. It will make this 3 acres plus the rest of the property he maintains around here much easier to manage. 10381. Magoseph - 7/18/2004 2:46:42 AM Our lawnmower conked out, but Joe brought us one and he's now mowing the front lawn for his step-dad. As soon as he has finished, we'll go to his place and cool off righ here, this time only the four of us:
10382. alistairConnor - 7/18/2004 2:49:32 AM You appear to have a pretty big swimming pool. 10383. Magoseph - 7/18/2004 2:51:23 AM Lake Michigan, you Frenchy! About time you are back, Ali. How did your bicycling go? 10384. arkymalarky - 7/18/2004 2:53:13 AM Very lovely, Mags. I love sitting out on a nice day just looking at the water. I'm envious.
Bob bush-hogged the other day (not nearly like mowing), the first time the lawn had been cut in about three weeks. It rained so much that our neighbor who was going to mow for us while we were gone couldn't. He's going to mow again as soon as they deliver the mower Monday afternoon.
Bob's riding mower's messing up, but he'll get that fixed even though he got this other mower. I don't go outside for all that any more. My allergies are better, but partly because I'm really staying away from the outdoors, especially with all the mowing. I'm highly allergic to virtually every grass that grows here. 10385. alistairConnor - 7/18/2004 2:54:09 AM Day before yesterday, we were riding the trails of a southern Jura ski station, and Daniel, the local lad among us, led us an extra kilometre over rough alpine pasture to where we had a view over the Big Lake, with Geneva's downtown fountain clearly in view, and the Mont Blanc squarely behind it.
You'll have to take my word for it. No photo, my batteries conked out due to the cold and humidity of the early days. But I'll try to get a picture from one of the others. 10386. arkymalarky - 7/18/2004 2:54:57 AM Hey Alistair! Hope you didn't skin any knees in your adventures.
