Well, it helps that they're the same colour as mine.

The haircut is great, Juds, thanks, and the DIL is happy too. I let the color grow out since I saw you and now, amazingly, people comment how nice my real color is. We saw the lake’s mansions from the mail excursion boat, the best one to take we were told. Later we went to Popeye's and had far too expensive drinks and foods. Stuffed and filled with hilarity, we walked around town in order to sober up. We met Jacqueline and her partner in the best furniture store I have seen so far around here. We had a lively conversation in French. They sent their helper to Starbucks for us. My companion put a down payment on a love seat that is to be made with her precise specifications. Overall, it was a fun day, even if my legs this morning are hurting; I could barely get out of bed. Not only am I a hopeless rube nowadays, but I am practically out-of-commission if I venture out of my lair.

Hello,Mac, Ali!

Hello Mago.

You know, I'm trying, but I cannot recall what colour our bedroom is.

It's like the old joke -- what's the difference between what a hooker, a mistress and a wife says in bed?

The hooker says 'Faster, faster!'

The mistress says 'Slower! Slower!'

The wife says, 'Beige. I think I'll paint the ceiling beige.'

Bill Mahr doesn't understand the fuss about same sex marriages. What the bid deal, he says? You get married and then, you have the same sex every night.

Magos, I just posted about my friend's backyard paradise over in Good Life.

10472. Jenerator - 7/21/2004 6:35:42 AM

Pelle,

I saw people take home leftovers in England, France, Germany, Holland and Belgium...

10473. judithathome - 7/21/2004 6:37:58 AM

Were they Americans? ;-)

10474. arkymalarky - 7/21/2004 9:05:52 AM

We took leftovers back to the hotel in Belgium--and they sent us with real plates, which we walked over and returned before we left the hotel. So I assume they're not accustomed to requests to take out leftovers.

I'm too pooped to peep. Bob and I shopped all day. He did really well until the Wal-Mart leg at the end of the journey, at which point he became somewhat like a grumpy toddler who missed a nap. He and I very rarely go there any more, but we both had to pick up some things and Hot Springs doesn't have a Target. It's not worth shopping in Little Rock just to avoid a Wal-Mart. At least I didn't think so before today.

Arky, let me know if you want anything from here...we can bring whatever you want! (chocolate mint straws, for example.)

10476. Magoseph - 7/21/2004 11:22:32 PM

Hey, folks, how are you? I saw your post, Juds, in Good Life and I suppose the koi is a tree. I couln't find a photo of it anywhere. Do you have one?

10477. Ms. No - 7/22/2004 1:46:13 AM

Koi are those giant goldfish.

I'll see if I can find you a pic.

10478. Ms. No - 7/22/2004 1:47:38 AM

I should clarify that they're actually Japanese Carp not really mutant goldfish.

10479. Ms. No - 7/22/2004 2:01:09 AM

Okay, this is small, but you get the idea.

10480. Ms. No - 7/22/2004 2:04:02 AM

Still not a great picture but better visibility than the last one.

10481. arkymalarky - 7/22/2004 2:12:18 AM

Judith, you doll! That would be the only thing on my list besides yourselves! You know, I have looked everywhere for those and still can't find them around here or in Colorado.

BTW, I hope you're coming up at least Friday if not before. There's already a pre-gathering gathering in the works with food and everything. Bob and I are learning to just stand out of the way!

10482. arkymalarky - 7/22/2004 2:18:24 AM

I've been wanting a small goldfish pond in our backyard forever and even have the rocks for the border (or a good start of them, anyway. Bob is dragging his feet for fear of more mosquitoes (I don't think they'd be noticed, we have so many now), but I don't think it would be a problem in well-aerated water with fish in it. We've been too preoccupied for so long and now it's starting to interest me again, so maybe this spring I'll manage it.

Which reminds me--I mentioned that my parents got a dog after theirs died. Her name is Suzy. Mose is babysitting her right now because they're in the cabin in CO for three weeks. Their main concern is that Suzy's fallen into their pool four times now and she can't swim well enough to keep from drowning and she can't get out of it by herself. I don't think she'd jump in with no one in the pool, but Mose is leaving her in their backyard by herself while Mose is at work.

10483. arkymalarky - 7/22/2004 2:20:43 AM

If we had fish the size of those koi in a pond every redneck within a five mile radius would be here with a cane pole.

10484. judithathome - 7/22/2004 5:31:14 AM

Ha!! I bet I know who one of them would be, too!

We're coming up on Friday and Keoni is bringing his golf clubs...I think he might want to go play on Sunday.

10485. arkymalarky - 7/22/2004 5:35:05 AM

Sounds great!
