I would love to see you put some life into our language and poetry threads in particular. Many of us who participated in those either moved on or became too busy to put as much time into it as we would like.

I think you would really enjoy the archives of those threads.

Oh my, that's an idea, Marj.

G'nite, and hope the pain improves from the wisdom teeth. I don't envy you.

Ah youth, I long ago noticed that most fraygrants amd/or moties were around my son's age. I am 76.

Did fnid clear skies last night for the perseid showers which were seriously spectacular. And were streaking at one per minute. News predidcted thunder showers in mountains and desesrt and I was briefly torn......can hardly rmember whar rain is.

Hey Patsy!

We had clouds last night. It's clear tonight, of course. I'm glad you got a good show of them!

10836. arkymalarky - 8/12/2004 10:04:53 AM

Well, I'm gone to check out the evening before it gets completely dark. It is gorgeous here. Unreal for August.

Marjoribanks and arkymalarky,

Thanks for pointing out the archived threads. I'm checking them out right now.

10838. judithathome - 8/12/2004 11:57:46 AM

I'm an old fart so you should like me just fine. I'm 61.

10839. Magoseph - 8/12/2004 10:27:45 PM

Cold out-there, 56, winter sweats on, I'm going anyway for my first run of the day.
How's everybody this morning?

10840. judithathome - 8/12/2004 10:52:09 PM

I'm going to exercise and then for coffee...coffee only; none of those French pastries for me, after working that hard to lose a few ounces at the gym.

10841. Magoseph - 8/12/2004 11:25:15 PM

I never liked French pastries since the day, when I was a child, I was asked to whip the Crème Chantilly's ingredients together. My folks found me lying on the floor next to the empty bowl screaming agony.

Wow, I had no idea I was younger than Banks! Learn something every day.

Arx,

Mose's birthday is the same as my grandmother's. Mamaw likes it because it's easier for her to remember --- something that's become increasingly difficult the older she gets.

tmesis,

Have you read the currently circulating Darwin awards? Perhaps you should keep an eye on yourself lest you be tempted to go too far. ;->

10844. msgreer - 8/13/2004 1:01:31 AM

To those who may be in the eye of the storm I wish you well. Hopefully everyone has left the west coast of Florida. It's hard to know the city you lived in for 26 years may well be under water very soon. I know Tampa is getting the direct hit but Sarasota is going to get it too.

10845. arkymalarky - 8/13/2004 1:10:06 AM

Hey Msgreer! I hope everyone in the FL area or with friends and/or family there does ok. Bob's nephew and his family live fairly near Orlando.

10846. arkymalarky - 8/13/2004 1:10:47 AM

I've got to go to town today. That just ruins a day off, even though I hope not to be there more than a couple of hours.

See y'all later.

10847. msgreer - 8/13/2004 1:11:49 AM

thanks arky. orlando will feel hurricane charlie too. i hope bob's family stays dry..and is safe.

10848. PsychProf - 8/13/2004 1:34:48 AM

HEY MS Greer!!! Drop me a line.

10849. Ms. No - 8/13/2004 2:13:22 AM

Thinking of Uncle Eddie and hoping he's weathering the storm alright.

10850. judithathome - 8/13/2004 6:46:53 AM

I must be getting a lot better with my leg...my neighbor just called with a emergency; she needed to get to the mechanics before they closed at 4pm. I rushed to my car and drove her over there and came back home, only to discover I'd gone to the car without my cane! (It felt funny to walk to the house from the car without it but evidently, it felt normal when I left to go pick her up.)

Woo-hoo!

10851. Magoseph - 8/13/2004 6:59:56 AM

Next, you'll running along with me.
