Hello, everyone! Another gorgeous day and I'm doing what I did yesterday--work outside, jog, soak up some sun, and inhale the tree scents—they are so strong now that when I come inside my hair and clothes permeate the house with them.

11358. msgreer - 9/12/2004 11:25:26 PM

wonkers

You have email!

11359. Ms. No - 9/13/2004 2:45:37 AM

just posted this in Technical Issues but thought I'd better put it here as well just in case:

Anybody know anything about a virus/worm/mailbot something that's sending out invitations to folks to join Yahoo Messenger?

I just got an email from a vendor with whom I don't personally work asking me who I was and why I'd sent him a request to add him to my yahoo messenger list.

I never sent such a thing. I wouldn't. I don't see how it could even have happened by accident. The only thing I can imagine is that I've got some bad beastie in my PC running around issuing invitations to anyone who's email address appears in the system

So, if you've heard anything about this please let me know------or if you get an unexpected yahoo messenger invitation from me.

I just started using Yahoo Messenger talking with Mose because I refuse to use AOL or MSN Messenger, but I haven't seen anything funny wrt any of my Yahoo email accounts.

You all will not belive this--well, maybe you will, but I don't.

My dad's 73. He went to a liquor store in Hot Springs the other day and they were having a drawing for a super nice Harley. On a whim he put his name in and he WON it. They called him today. Bob went in the same liquor store a couple of weeks ago and saw the cycle. He said the chrome was so shiny he had to touch it. He was very impressed that Dad had won it. I haven't seen it.

Dad says he's selling it. I told him he ought to at least keep it a few days (or weeks?) and try it out.

Fall is officailly here....I just heard Hank Williams Jr. sing Are You Ready For Some Football?

I'm not but I love to hear that opening of the game.

11362. judithathome - 9/13/2004 10:08:10 AM

Arky, tell your dsd he should at least dress up in leathers and your mom do the same and have their pictures made...use 'em for Christmas cards!

11363. judithathome - 9/13/2004 10:08:29 AM

jeez...dAd.

11364. wabbit - 9/13/2004 10:12:42 AM

Wow, how cool is that!

I've been using Gaim lately, but also haved used Trillian for chatting. Both programs allow me to connect with Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, and AIM without having all those programs open. Of course, the only person I ever chat with is my sister, but still...

Speaking of my sister, she went back home today. She said when she crossed the seven mile bridge at noon, the water was turquoise and the sky was black, just gorgeous. They are getting a fair amount of rain, but nothing like what they were expecting. Once Ivan moves a bit further north, they'll be happier. Then we hope the folks in the panhandle out to New Orleans are ok.

You'd have to be a little bit crazy to ride a motorcycle at age 73 or at any age for that matter.

11366. judithathome - 9/13/2004 10:16:51 AM

He doesn't have to ride it, just have his picture made on it.

11367. wonkers2 - 9/13/2004 10:20:31 AM

He doesn't need leathers either. He could do it like the Irishman in the comedy from several years back about the people in the small town who defrauded the Irish lottery. What was the name of that terrifically funny movie?

11368. arkymalarky - 9/13/2004 10:28:04 AM

Of course, the only person I ever chat with is my sister, but still...

Sounds like me. I'm trying to get Mose to post in here. I'm just not the chatty type, and I hate to cut her off. ;-)

Congrats to your sister moving back, btw.

On Dad, I'll have to buy him one of those tough-guy looking hats with a ponytail attached to it. They are getting their picture made as a promo for winning it.

That should really go over well. Maybe they can post an ad in the AARP magazine.

11369. alistairconnor - 9/13/2004 6:36:18 PM

You think your dad would mind if you posted his picture here? I think the world needs to see that picture.

Perhaps Mose's band can use him for publicity? Mean ole Granpa?

No? Never mind...

11370. arkymalarky - 9/14/2004 7:36:07 AM

Hahaha. I'll post it as soon as it's available.

Mose is competing in a Battle of Bands this weekend. Maybe he could take her to the club on it.

Except her dad and I couldn't stand it.

11371. SnowOwl - 9/14/2004 8:04:16 AM

Wonkers,

He could do it like the Irishman in the comedy from several years back about the people in the small town who defrauded the Irish lottery. What was the name of that terrifically funny movie?

I think you're referring to Waking Ned Devine. It was a great little movie, very funny.
