Flexy's carotid ultrasound shows that there is a stenosis and narrowing of the carotid artery. We are working on lowering his cholesterol and blood pressure now so that he can undergo surgery.

11840. thoughtful - 10/28/2004 9:39:14 PM

Any time, magos.

11841. thoughtful - 10/28/2004 9:49:00 PM

Oh dear. My best wishes to Flexy and hope for a successful surgery and speedy outcome.

Unfortunately, the schwarzbein stuff is really long-term in benefits and in fact in the short run can worsen things like weight and cholesterol as the body heals itself. Though the other advice about real foods, avoiding artificial sweeteners and stuff is all very valid in any case.

I suggest you read the Schwarzbein Principle II which includes the lower saturated fat version for people who are already at risk and need to continue to watch their saturated fat intake over the course of their transition to a healed metabolism.

errata: change 'outcome' to 'recovery'
sheesh!

11843. Magoseph - 10/28/2004 10:39:14 PM

Thanks for the good wishes, thoughtful.

I can just imagine what a party is like at pelle's house. It must be something like musical chairs where he spends the evening ushering guests from room to room depending on what they're discussing.

Oh no. If you want to talk about work, you must do it in the living room. Only talk about families is allowed in the kitchen. Excuse me, you people there discussing politics must move into the dining room now, please. I'm sorry, the family room is reserved for health talk only. You must change the conversation to health or move to another room.

It's actually mostly strippers and beer, thoughtful.

11846. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 10/28/2004 11:29:00 PM

11847. thoughtful - 10/28/2004 11:33:41 PM

11848. angel-five - 10/28/2004 11:35:46 PM

11849. alistairConnor - 10/28/2004 11:36:53 PM

You really need to get yourself some metamucil.

No idea what it is, but it's a great line!

11850. thoughtful - 10/28/2004 11:50:31 PM

No, no, the strippers are from i felta thi.

AC, metamucil is a dietary fiber supplement, with the expected affects on ones bowels, if that helps.

I hope thoughtful wasn't implying that the baleful Swede's personality is anal retentive. Shame on you, thoughtful!

11853. arkymalarky - 10/29/2004 12:26:31 AM

Bob loves Bob's Red Mill meusli.

11854. Ms. No - 10/29/2004 12:46:45 AM

"Smooth texture"

Is that going in or coming out?

I'll keep with apples and oats, thanks.

11855. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 10/29/2004 5:57:51 AM

HAHAHAHA!

11856. alistairconnor - 10/29/2004 10:47:00 AM

Either way, I prefer chunky.

11857. Macnas - 10/29/2004 11:09:13 AM

Just so long as it happens I reckon.

11858. PelleNilsson - 10/29/2004 12:19:34 PM

Macnas

Before you left to do battle with your contractor you asked me to write something about Swedish sail, which I did. It is not much, but what there is is here.
