I wouldn't have as much to say if he weren't a teacher. My kids know my opinions (and his know his), but I try not to beat them over the head with them.

I think I've offended a person or two in the lounge, not for my opinions, but I can be snotty about them without meaning to be. It's all y'all's fault, though. I know I wasn't like that before I started posting in the Fray. ;-)

Could it be Cap'n Dirty?

11884. Magoseph - 10/31/2004 1:33:48 PM

The Cap'n is tall and still very good-looking, Wonk. Take my word--I know.

He's the result of a Google image search on the word "snotty," Mags.

Ah well shall we talk about something else today?

11892. PelleNilsson - 11/2/2004 2:44:56 PM

Let's talk about death, graves and epitaphs.

How lucky you are. Can I also delete my posts if I feel the need to?

11894. Magoseph - 11/2/2004 3:06:56 PM

In a way, you can, Marc--just ask your friendly host to do it for you.

11895. alistairconnor - 11/2/2004 3:25:08 PM

You can have your own thread for the asking, Bébert. And be absolute monarch of your micro-kingdom.

You could issue your own stamps. Have you thought of that?

Yes, by all means let's not talk bout the most important day of the next decade here in the USA.

I have noticed we have more birds flocking to my neighborhood this year than ever before. And every day at approximately 4:30pm hundreds of these grackles amass in my tree tops and they hop around and make racket amd preen and strut and we have a literal rain of acorns assail the roof and the yard. On the skylights in my garden room, it sounds like a hailstorm for about twenty minutes. It's deafening.

Not yet--I still have some more to say. Last week, I went to the town-hall to vote at 9am and there was absolutely no one there. I completed my vote in a jiffy. This morning, at 7:30 am, my husband drove to the store and came home. He reported that not only the huge parking-lot was full of cars but the side streets and the highway were crowded with over 200 parked cars. My husband has never seen anything like it in this little village during his lifetime. He estimated to get to the voting place, people have to park at least six blocks away and walk to the town-hall. There was no way for him to estimate the lines because you couldn't see the people over the cars. He saw one person who apparently had voted and was trying to exit the parking lot. There were two policemen trying to get her out and having no success, as the cars had her jammed in and they were evidently locked. Needless to say, he exited the area as soon as he could.

well unfortunately, it is not only the most important event in the us but is bound to have strong ripples affecting most of the rest of the world as well. such is the current lot in life of the usa.
