12104. alistairconnor - 11/17/2004 6:40:38 PM You look so good in a tchador, Mago... 12105. PelleNilsson - 11/17/2004 8:06:58 PM Oui, très chic.
12106. Macnas - 11/17/2004 8:21:34 PM That woman appears to have an arrow stuck in her side. 12107. PelleNilsson - 11/17/2004 8:40:42 PM It appears to be same kinde of appendage to the hookah. 12108. Macnas - 11/17/2004 8:51:19 PM Ok...so she might not be balancing a packet of sandwiches on her head under that cloak?? 12109. Magoseph - 11/17/2004 8:53:37 PM
I was trying to find what a hookah was when I met this beautiful Iranian. 12110. Magoseph - 11/17/2004 8:55:03 PM Anyway, what did they smoke in that hookah, Pelle? 12111. PelleNilsson - 11/17/2004 9:08:29 PM Tobacco, surprisingly enough. 12112. Macnas - 11/17/2004 9:16:21 PM I've never tried it, any one I ever came across was invariably filthy.
Supposed to be nice though. 12113. Macnas - 11/17/2004 9:26:08 PM I'm off, at last. Talk to yez tomorrow. 12114. PelleNilsson - 11/17/2004 10:07:30 PM Check Escapes tomorrow for a follow-up on iron.
'Hookah'is the sub-con term, I believe. In the Levant it is known as the 'narguileh' or, among the expatriate trash, as the 'hubble-bubble'.
It is kind of relaxing to smoke it. 12115. judithathome - 11/17/2004 10:20:33 PM That poncho is pretty nice, Magos. It would definitely go well with the weather here today...rain, dreary, and mid 50s. I nearly stayed home from exercise because of the weather but pushed on...it was raining so hard, water was curb high in some places.
I'm coloring Christmas cards this afternoon. I bought some that have a dog on them that looks exactly like Klaus except the dog is brown so I'm hand-coloring in the parts of him that are black. Looks really cute! Luckily, the dog has on a doggie sweater and cap and so there isn't much to color.
I used to hand draw and color my cards every year...once I did stained glass windows and another time, a Texas Santa with cowboy boots and a red Stetson. I've also done a rather bedraggled Charlie Brownesque tree in a snow covered field. All of them were done on blank wedding card stock...nice heavy stuff with envelopes to match.
I was a regular little Martha Stewart in my younger days. 12116. judithathome - 11/17/2004 10:21:34 PM It is kind of relaxing to smoke it.
Especially if one uses pot instead of tobacco in it.
12117. SnowOwl - 11/18/2004 12:06:55 AM Would someone do me a small favour. I'm having problems connecting to a particular site (in fact it's my work site). I had the same problem yesterday although other people were able to access it without any trouble.
I'm having a bit of a row with my ISP about it, and I'd be very grateful if one of you would try the link to see if it loads.
try this link 12118. judithathome - 11/18/2004 12:15:33 AM Loaded for me. 12119. SnowOwl - 11/18/2004 12:22:21 AM Thanks Judith. There's definitely something up with my ISP. They were having problems with international connectivity a couple of days ago, and although they say the problem has been resolved I'm still having trouble.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
12120. wonkers2 - 11/18/2004 12:30:39 AM Works for w2. 12121. ronski - 11/18/2004 12:30:49 AM Worked for me too. 12122. Snowowl - 11/18/2004 2:20:39 AM Thanks all. It's still not working for me, and despite my ISP's denials I'm quite sure there's a problem with a router or something similiar.
However, I'm completely non-technical so the odds are that I'm wrong.
There are quite a few sites that I'm unable to access, but the Mote is speeding along for me today.
12123. arkymalarky - 11/18/2004 2:22:12 AM I couldn't get into anything but the Mote yesterday and I finally restored to a couple of weeks earlier and it seems to be fine now.
