yeah, Freebird and even Sweet Home Alabama are way too far down the list --- especially if they're going to include every major hit that Elivs had and then songs that nobody ever heard of. And what's with Waterloo Sunset being in the top 100? I love that song but as far as it's significance it's still farther down the line than Freebird.
Honestly, I think it's a bit of prejudice against Southern Rock. My father recently recommended a book to me written by a long-time Rolling Stone author called Dixie Lullaby and it looks specifically at Southern Rock and what it meant and what the contributions were and how so many in the industry --- notably the author --- kind of shunned it because it was for rednecks and hillbillies rather than California hippies.

I read Wonk's post and didn't put the two together, but when Bro and I had a band in college we played that and your post reminded me of those days, because no matter what great song (not necessarily great rendition, mind you) we played, people always hollered "FREEBIRD!" which, if I say so myself, Bro was wicked on with the guitar.

I don't know yet, Ali, maybe ceramic tiles. The old ones are not replaceable. Actually, it is not worthwhile to put ceramic tiles in here since this house, (if sold) will most likely be razed. The house has no particular style, a very inconvenient set-up, is not worth renovating.
