Sad day when the freeway came through and you could no longer drive past and smell that heavenly bread baking. 12767. Only after we had a drink and ate our food, did we notice that the bar stools and the tables were occupied by only women. We decided to stay a while just to see if some men would come in--they never did, but in the meantime, we noticed we were being eyed with much interest. We're going to a Solstice party tonight...I'm taking along a pound of French feta cheese, two cans of baba ganoush, a jar of olive tampenade, a bag of pistachio nuts, and three boxes of pita chips made fresh at the Greek cafe down the street. We're also taking wine.

I can't tell if it's going to be a harsh winter or not.
