Max, I check it out a few times a week but it is a ghost town now.

I met Keoni in Texas and we married and moved to Japan.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate and the best in the coming year!

thoughtful, the difference betwixt the two is a chair.

We took the son to "A CHristmas Story" last year, and apparently what he took away from it was a lame joke:
FRAGILE is French for expensive.

Today we saw the Nutcracker ballet. I think he actually licked it. I'm glad I didn't drag him there he was three. A four year old 5 rows down started puking, Merry Christmas all!

Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa to all, etc... to all.

I think I must have started some time around the time PP did. I at least recall it to be sometime in early '97. Anyway, doesn't much matter. I hope you're all doing well this holiday. We're doing pretty good. It's bitterly cold here in Minnesota, but we manage to get around anyway.

It's my little Jacob's first Christmas. It's also the first we're having here in the new addition to our small old house. It's going to be fun for me.

I finised some projects too. I sheetrocked the pantry under the stairs to the second floor. Added some peg-board and the hooks for hanging pans and lids. Put a small old hutch in there and hung a shelf. We're set now.

Then, not that I wasn't already busy, but sinse I was sheetrocking I thought I might as well do the old front porch as well. It had some very old pine board wall panels. I like them Ok but it wasn't modern for the newness of the home we've made. So, I put 2" foam board on the outside walls and the ceiling, sheetrocked everything and finished it all. This took seven days and I completed it about 5pm. Whew. Cleaned and the rest too. Yah know I had a mess.

Well, it's a quiet night, glad of it. Jacob's in my lap, we're gonna go settle and get some rest.

Happy night, happy day and bless you all.

Do continue with the pedigree parade.
It's a fascinating holiday present!

Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Eve, is the big day here. Cristmas day the children are supposed to shut up and think about Jesus. It was a clear cold day but we have no snow.

12914. uzmakk - 12/25/2004 1:21:26 PM

Merry Christmas, my dear Moties. I shall have to come up with one of those Christmas letters, but not this morning.

12915. Max Macks - 12/25/2004 7:23:10 PM

Good morning from a cold California

temp dropped to 35F , with no warning that I could
see , no wonder I was so cold when I got up this morning.

and Hi uzmakk , first time I see you since my
return as frequent visitor to The Mote
I think we used to post about books and
and I have a vague and possibly inaccurate idea
that you do some sort of printing.

12916. arkymalarky - 12/25/2004 7:55:09 PM

OOOOOhhhhh, hey Uzzie! Merry Christmas to you too! Please make a New Year's Resolution that the Mote will see more of you.

Hey Max!

Waiting for Bob to get back from his walk then we're going to my parents. As I thought, his fam's will be tomorrow because the Little Rock bunch (who has the out-of-staters with them) still can't leave their driveways, but it should get close to 40F today with lots of sun, so we're on schedule for tomorrow. Suits me. I'd rather do two in one day and get it done, but it is tiring.

Feliz navidad y prospero ano nuevo!

Joyeux Noël et Bonne Année!

12920. Snowowl - 12/25/2004 8:43:14 PM

Merry Christmas all.

We had a nice, but very quiet day, with just the 2 girls with us this year. Since we're having our big celebration on Twelfth Night, when the overseas members of the family will be here (with the exception of #2 son), we had something completely different yesterday. No turkey, no ham, instead a baked stuffed fish.

The sun came out for a while yesterday - that's the first time we've seen it in over a month of rain. Today, when the builder is supposed to be coming to work on the deck, it's back to raining again.

I've resigned myself to the fact that our visitors will have to climb over the piles of timber on the lawn in order to get into the house.

12921. wonkers2 - 12/25/2004 10:50:34 PM

We're having roast pheasant from our local Whole Foods Market. Last year our #1 son shot some pheasants which were a hit for Christmas dinner. This year he didn't get home in time to shoot them.

I just had a toasted salt bagel, smoked salmon and cream cheese with a cold beer.

12922. wonkers2 - 12/25/2004 11:03:05 PM

Practical presents prevailed this year. I received a two gig flash card for my digital camera and a HP fax machine.

Gifts for our three children included "Understanding the Racing Rules of Sailing," silk long-sleeved undershirts, "Arc of Justice" by Kevin Boyle (a bit of Detroit history about the Ossian Sweet murder trial), "Common Errors in English Usage" by Paul Brians for our lawyer son, "Escaping the Delta Robert Johnson and the invention of the Blues" by Elijay Wald, a Dremel for our furniture maker daughter, plus several framed pictures by W2.

Wow, 2Gb, that's massive, I know I thought my wife was mad when she got me a 512Mb card a couple of years back, but it's really nice to have. I'm startting t think about upgrading my camera; what are you using, W2?

12924. Dubai Vol - 12/26/2004 9:15:20 AM

Oh, and happy Boxing Day, everyone!

12925. Frankster - 12/26/2004 9:39:13 AM

(What is it I have forgotten to do ? What ? What ? What ? ... Oh, yeah!)

Season's Greetings, all you Beautiful Motesters.

12926. Frankster - 12/26/2004 9:40:33 AM

...Why is it that we sometimes overlook the closest and most obvious of friends ???

:( Sorry.

12927. Frankster - 12/26/2004 9:42:27 AM

"Mo-tes-ters" Did I really write that ? Boy, I really did overdo it on the Christmas spirits. ;)

Time to hit the sack.

12928. Dubai Vol - 12/26/2004 3:30:38 PM

Sweet dreams :)

I always think of us as "Moties" from "The Mote in God's Eye." Perhaps a too-obscure literary reference.
