13253. thoughtful - 1/13/2005 11:57:18 PM

wonk, i appreciate the information...i had not heard about saturn.

i did not appreciate the epithet. I'm used to it from concerned, but I hardly think it was warranted here, and very surprised it was from you.

The Montreal 125,000 Jews' love affair with the Jaguar has irretrievably compromised the standing of that vehicle with our city's gentiles who have the means to buy one.

When you drive around Town of Mount Royal, you can actually determine who's Jewish (or Lebanese) by checking the presence of jags in the driveway.

13255. judithathome - 1/14/2005 12:12:11 AM

My ratio in owning a Jag and having it repaired is that you need the cosat of the car in reserve to repair it.

Epithet? What epithet? I don't recall directing an epithet to thoughtful. Please direct me to the post.

WHy do the English drink warm beer?

Lucas refrigerators.

Why don't the English build computers?

They can't figure out a way to make them leak oil!

13260. judithathome - 1/14/2005 1:05:04 AM

Wonkers, you addressed her as Thoughtless...I'm speaking out of turn here but that struck me as somewhat uncalled for.

13261. wonkers2 - 1/14/2005 1:10:53 AM

Thank you judith. Mea culpa! That was thoughtless but completely unintentional. I am one of thoughtful's longtime admirers. Abject apologies to thoughtFUL!

I read some where than after Ford bought Jaguar co.
those cars had less mechanical problems.

But I read something some what recently tht
Ford was now dumping Jaguar.

Does that mean the end of Jaguar autos?

Bob loves Folgers Coffee Singles. You brew it like tea. I still use a coffee maker or percolate mine when I drink it. I like it pretty strong and I'm not particular about the taste. I bought some Cafe DuMonde and it was good. Tried another New Orleans coffee (both were cheaper than the others) and it was crap.

13264. judithathome - 1/14/2005 3:38:10 AM

Cafe DuMonde

Does it have chicory in it? I love that New Orleans stuff with chicory...like it best IN New Orleans. ;-)

13265. Wombat - 1/14/2005 3:46:56 AM

Cafe du Monde...yummmm. Beignets...double yummmm.

13266. arkymalarky - 1/14/2005 5:12:39 AM

Yep. The other had chickory in it too, but it didn't help the taste.

13267. arkymalarky - 1/14/2005 5:13:57 AM

One of these days I've got to make the time to get back to New Orleans. Bob and I both love it, but we've never been there together.

13268. judithathome - 1/14/2005 5:25:46 AM

Last time we were there was to pick up our Volvo which had been shipped from Germany. 1989.

We had a great time but didn't get to stay long because my parents had driven us and we went back when they did...up through Mississippi and over to Vicksburg. My dad had taken me to Vicksburg National Park when I was a teenager and I wanted to see it again. Keoni really enjoyed seeing all the civil war monuments and we got to tour a wooden submarine, too...well, look at it, rather.

13269. seadate - 1/14/2005 9:37:24 AM

Try Community New Orleans Blend, cher!

13270. seadate - 1/14/2005 9:42:33 AM

Hello, Judith and Arky! ...

Judith, I laughed about the concept of a wooden submarine when I read your last post. I guess the concept didn't work cause the damn thing kept floating.

The best coffee I've had so far, using my nice new kettle, is some of the Fair Trade stuff. And it's a bit of a kick in the stones to Nestle as well.

13272. PelleNilsson - 1/14/2005 1:01:50 PM

This is the time when various institutes announce whhich courses they are going to run. They span over a wide range from carpenry to crystal healing. Some are very odd. I thought I had seen it all but ask myself: who is attracted to a one-week course in fish skin tanning?
