Pelle,

Did you see what tie Bush was wearing?

Oh~my~gawd

It is like, so last year!

I cannot believe he wore that tie. He probably got it from a Saudi prince he was paying off!

13432. Jenerator - 1/20/2005 7:18:12 PM

Judith,

You're right. If you want to spend your days chit chatting about your endless Bush boycotts and how stupid Laura Bush's wardrobe choices are, go for it.

13433. judithathome - 1/20/2005 7:18:29 PM

Oh fine...I'll take myself off the thread and not bother you any longer. Have fun dissing A5, Jen, and all those who think differently.

Pelle, I'll just move on over to the Inferno...Jen thinks I'm going there soon enough, anyhow.

13434. PelleNilsson - 1/20/2005 7:19:38 PM

But I don't go on about Christians in this thread.

The inauguration is not broadcast here, Jen. Not newsworthy enough.

13435. Jenerator - 1/20/2005 7:20:20 PM

Judith,

I bought my "Why Resonance is the Devil" bracelet and am wearing it as well as an all white outfit today. In fact, I have my back facing the computer screen in protest.

If I find out that he's not wearing a winter coat, I'll cringe!

13436. Linnea - 1/20/2005 7:25:43 PM

Okay, they just explained that the whooshing noise was the result of Rehnquist's having had a tracheotomy.

Boy do I feel small.

13437. Jenerator - 1/20/2005 7:30:08 PM

Bush probably caused Rhenquist's illness, so don't feel small.

13438. judithathome - 1/20/2005 7:30:41 PM

Linnea, I will respond in the Inferno.

13439. wonkers2 - 1/20/2005 8:04:16 PM

Jen, just curious whether you agree or disagree with the NYT editorial I linked in the Religion thread. It decried the military's recent discharging of a number of badly needed Arabic translators because of their homosexuality.

13440. Jenerator - 1/20/2005 8:28:24 PM

I didn't read it. It was firewalled from work. I'm telling you, it's getting ridiculous here - EVERYTHING is filtered -- all pictures, key phrases, web based e-mail, and yahoo search.

Can you post it?

13441. wonkers2 - 1/20/2005 8:32:14 PM

The price of homophobia

13442. Jenerator - 1/20/2005 8:36:34 PM

Again, the link is firewalled, wonkers. Can you post the article? (post it in Religion).

13443. wonkers2 - 1/20/2005 8:38:52 PM

It's already posted (linked) in Religion. Excuse my ignorance, but I don't know how to post the entire editorial aside from linking it as I did. It's an editorial from today's nytimes. Feel free to educate me if you can.

13444. wonkers2 - 1/20/2005 8:40:02 PM

Both links work fine for me on my computer.???

13445. judithathome - 1/20/2005 8:47:16 PM

Jen's computer is at her school...they have a firewall up that doesn't allow her to link to anything with banned words or things of that sort in it. I'm sure it's been put on the computer system to prevent the students from stumbling on to porn sites but it unfortunately hampers what anyone can read while on-line there.

13446. judithathome - 1/20/2005 8:48:38 PM

(Linnea is doing a cut and paste of the article in Religion so Jen can read it.)

13447. Linnea - 1/20/2005 8:48:59 PM

I cut-and-pasted it into the religion thread.

13448. wonkers2 - 1/20/2005 8:51:13 PM

Tnx, Linnea.

13449. Max Macks - 1/20/2005 9:27:13 PM

Clinton was one of the best presidents since
Teddy Roosevelt

and W. Bush is thought by many to not be a bad POTUS
but the worst in US history.

And that view from one who is neutral on]
the subject (LOL)

Hi, thoughtful, the following is from his site.
Oscar de la Renta, left his native Dominican Republic at 18 years of age to study painting at the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid. While living in Spain, he became interested in the world of design and began sketching for leading Spanish fashion houses, which soon led to an apprenticeship with Spain’s most renowned couturier, Cristóbal Balenciaga. Later, Oscar de la Renta left Spain to join Antonio Castillo as a couture assistant at the house of Lanvin in Paris. In 1963, Oscar de la Renta came to New York to design the couture collection for Elizabeth Arden. In 1965, Mr. de la Renta began his signature ready-to-wear label.
