Hello, Moties, winter is back for a bit--roads are treacherous this morning, but since there is hope in the near future, I am not going to cry about it. Instead, what I am going to do right now is use the treadmill, then, talk to my younger son, and try to persuade him to visit us next week when he takes a break from work. Then, I will badger my eldest one until he sends me pictures of his last week’s trip to the Yucatán Peninsula, which I intend to post in Escapes. These actions will be in vain, as I know well, but I am not in the mood just yet to tackle the driveway first, the kitchen second, and the mess I made last night, looking for my glasses.

Thanks for the tagline at RI, Mags.

13742. Magoseph - 2/8/2005 5:37:14 PM

What tagline at RI, Prof?

13743. PsychProf - 2/8/2005 5:38:13 PM

mine

13744. Magoseph - 2/8/2005 5:39:17 PM

Ok, yours, but why do you thank me then?

13745. PsychProf - 2/8/2005 5:40:52 PM

hahahah...this is like an abbott and costello routine. Check out my tagline at RI, which was written by you.

13747. Magoseph - 2/8/2005 5:53:05 PM

I am famous now, folks!

13748. Magoseph - 2/8/2005 6:06:24 PM

13746 was deleted by my stupid self.

Hey all! Convalescing at home--so far not much pain, but I'm tired. Root canal, schmoot canal.

13750. thoughtful - 2/8/2005 9:14:17 PM

root canals aren't so bad.

I have a tooth that is fine but mostly gone and the dentist keeps wanting to crown it...I refuse until it dies and needs a root canal.

I had a tooth that was crowned and then died...ticked me off no end to have to destroy the crown for the root canal and then get another one made.

I've since learned my lesson.

13751. arkymalarky - 2/8/2005 11:36:42 PM

The crown is making me sick. Even with dental insurance it's going to cost two or three hundred dollars. I thought about telling him to just pull it, but I've only had one very back one pulled and I really don't want to get that started. This tooth has been bothering me a long time and has been unbearably sensitive for months. He redid a cavity there, but it just didn't work. I finally got to hurting bad enough and constantly enough last week that I called, and sure enough I had an abcess.

13752. wonkers2 - 2/8/2005 11:53:24 PM

The crown is worth the cost. If done properly it will last for a long time. You don't want to lose a tooth.

13753. thoughtful - 2/8/2005 11:53:52 PM

Well, fortunately, the crown should last a good long time....hopefully a lifetime.

Dentist was nice enough to give me the old one...like I really know what to do with an old crown. Remelt it and make earrings??? Heck it's not even useful as a paper weight!

Greetings former fraysters and present moties.

I haven't posted since November when I cleverly fell down twice and put myself out of comission for December and January. Nothing broken except my pride but both hurt. I now keep my cane with me inside with
me instead of just walks oudoors. Seems like I might have figured that out aftter the first fall. Sigh. various bugs, Patsy

13755. wabbit - 2/9/2005 9:50:08 AM

Hey Patsy! I'm happy to hear the falls didn't break anything. Have you gone to Florida yet?

13756. Magoseph - 2/9/2005 3:01:30 PM

Hello, Patsy, I'm glad to hear from you.

Hello, everyone!

13757. Macnas - 2/9/2005 3:41:42 PM

Hello Mago.

13758. thoughtful - 2/9/2005 3:56:41 PM

Patsy, always a pleasure to hear from you. Glad you survived the fall!

13759. judithathome - 2/9/2005 4:48:19 PM

Hey, Patsy, good to hear you didn't break anything!

Speaking of which, I had an xray Monday and though I'm disappointed the hole is still there on my tibia, the doctor was very happy that it has reduced by half since August. I go back in a year and he is confident it will be gone by then.

He also told me he fully expected me to be back in the last six months with a snapped bone because he was afraid when I started walking again, the pressure around that hole would make the bone weaker. So he was thrilled that I have done "so well". I'm glad he didn't tell me in August of his fears or I might have been too timid about walking and exercise. He thinks my 3 days a week workouts have helped tremendously.

13760. PsychProf - 2/9/2005 4:51:34 PM

Good. very good.
