Hey, Patsy, good to hear you didn't break anything!

Speaking of which, I had an xray Monday and though I'm disappointed the hole is still there on my tibia, the doctor was very happy that it has reduced by half since August. I go back in a year and he is confident it will be gone by then.

He also told me he fully expected me to be back in the last six months with a snapped bone because he was afraid when I started walking again, the pressure around that hole would make the bone weaker. So he was thrilled that I have done "so well". I'm glad he didn't tell me in August of his fears or I might have been too timid about walking and exercise. He thinks my 3 days a week workouts have helped tremendously.

Glad to hear it, J@h!

I am too, Judith, that is terrific news.

Mac, I am sorry I missed you this morning.

I sent a birthday card nine days ago to my younger son in Texas. His birthday was February 3. He just sent a mobile message saying that it has arrived finally. My brother’s card from France took only six days.

Congrats, Judith!

One crown can almost use up all the denteal insurance
for the year.

I had a new tooth thing happen last year

a crown (perhaps done badly) broke along with the top of the tooth. dentist said tooth sound

and could be smoothed off and kept in without extracting
the remainer.

so far has worked out well , .

Hey, Max!

Arky, how are you today--how was your day at school? Were you still hurting?

13768. arkymalarky - 2/9/2005 10:43:20 PM

Congrats Judith!

Hey Mags! I didn't go to school. I didn't hurt badly, but I didn't sleep much and I woke up around 5:00 AM with my head/tooth hurting, and the meds for it make me drowsy to drive.

I still have the headache, but it's not too bad.

13769. woden - 2/10/2005 1:21:28 AM

Wow. My teeth are perfect. I almost feel better about my 1,300 car repair bill.

13770. robertjayb - 2/10/2005 1:26:00 AM

Well done, Judith.

Hello, folks--brilliant sun now--I am on my way to town to see what the regulars are up to in my other cafe place--no doubt talking about everything, but what Bush is doing these days.

What's up with you?

13773. Jenerator - 2/10/2005 8:19:09 PM

Judith,

Glad you are on the road to recovery!

Thougtful,

I can't decide what I love more, the jeep or the neighborhood!;-) Well done on the restoration.

13774. thoughtful - 2/10/2005 8:31:15 PM

thanks jen.

13775. Magoseph - 2/10/2005 9:18:03 PM

I forgot to thank you for the pictures of your 1948 jeep, thoughtful. Flexy liked them very much—they reminded him of his ‘illustrious past’, so he told me—I had to listen to his adventures with that particular model for hours--not that I minded, of course, the poor man has to listen to mine on my famous vespa.

13776. thoughtful - 2/10/2005 9:35:30 PM

So glad it brought back fond memories for flexy. A lot of people seem to have memories of those things. One fellow from Latvia said he's seen jeeps just like that all over Russia...apparently they reverse engineered the ones the GIs left behind in WWII and made many.

Another fellow was from India and it brought back fond memories of he and his buds driving over undrivable roads in that country.

Just came from library and read
the latest Issue of the New Yorker Mag.

very gloomy reading in this last issue
re. Sharon and Bush and Palestine.

do you folks get the New Yorker or read it somewhere??

13778. wonkers2 - 2/11/2005 4:09:13 AM

Great magazine--Hertzberg, Hersh, Updike and great cartoons. My problem is that I don't have time to read all the good stuff in it, and I end up with stacks of partially read New Yorkers around the house which I don't get around to reading but can't bring myself to throw away.
