Daffy's are one of the things we can grow because they are poisonous so they are untouched by deer, mice, moles, voles, etc.
One fall I planted 100 tulip bulbs and all but one were destroyed by the rodents. The one that came up got up about 5" and then the deer mowed it down. I said, no more. 13926. The stray tom has found our cat door, and has visibly terrorised our little Minette for the last couple of weeks. Eating her food, sleeping in an armchair (which thankfully has a washable cover) and pissing wherever he feels like it.
I have started mopping up, but I don't know how to deal with him -- there's nothing to stop him coming back when we're out of the house.
Foretaste of things to come : in a few years, the girls will start bringing their boyfriends home... 13940. My youngest brother has shot the most of them.

Every branch, little or big, is white and the dark-gray sky, makes everything fairy-like, truly an enchanting sight out there.
