Thoughtful, how nice to see you. Hopefully this is just a cold. I understand that there is some real knockdown stuff going around out there in the real world. I've taken a couple grams of C and will continue popping them all evening.

I wouldn't know what you were talking about when you mentioned purell but my wife got a little sample bottle somewhere recently and I put a dab on my hands.

13985. judithathome - 3/4/2005 12:30:59 AM

Hey, Uz! Howzit? Other than you coming down with a cold?

13986. uzmakk - 3/4/2005 12:56:07 AM

Well, Judith, I'm still drinking beer but now I'm working on supper. Salmon and risotto with spinachio. And I do have some stuff to tell youse guys over the next little while. Right now I'm in a small talk mood, however. For instance, one of my sons will likely be studying in London next year. On my other internet home I related this fact and wondered whether this straigh-laced American boy could take the shoe commercials. (Wiz's post in Sex and Gender-- BaseLondon)

13987. Magoseph - 3/4/2005 1:04:57 AM

Uz, make sure to tell us before you leave the Cafe whether or not you intend to visit your son while he's in England, will you? I raised two teenaged boys some years ago and my experience is that boys are never exactly, how their parents describe them, you know.

13988. uzmakk - 3/4/2005 1:15:09 AM

We will almost certainly visit London. That will be our first trip outside the US. Re: being straight-laced. Of course you are correct. Its all out of my hands at this point.

I mean, my older son, who accompanied his dad every Sunday to mass, managed to run a wire to his room from the main TV connected to a satellite dish and watched porn movies—He was punished for it severely, but did it again anyway, until we finally took his TV away. This nice, affable young man and his best friend were caught siphoning gas from my car for the friend’s benefit. I could relate several incidents concerning this boy who was a straight A student and an altar boy. I must say, though, that his past has not been a precursor of his future, thanks to Providence.

Good, that is wonderful that you plan to go and visit him in London. Maybe you will be able to go to Paris?

Have a good evening, Uz---see you later, I hope.

Cap'n Dirty sez, "Mago, your son sounds like he was normal, highly intelligent and ingenious young man!"

13992. Magoseph - 3/4/2005 12:47:28 PM

Yes, Cap’n, he was all that and much more too, some of it I learned years later—both sons had a need to confess to me in later years about the capers they pull without my knowledge. Retrospective fears are harmful to my health; I tell them, stop reminiscing already, guys!

uz if you check in, check out 'cold eeze' it has zinc in it and has been proven to reduce the length and severity of colds. Suck (dont' chew) one cold eeze every 2 hours. I find it as helpful as decongestants without all those awful side effects.

Purell is an alcohol-based hand de-germer. rub it on and it evaporates. It doesn't remove dirt like handwashing, but it does remove germs.

13994. uzmakk - 3/4/2005 6:48:43 PM

Got it. Pharmacist recommended it highly also.

Hello!

13996. judithathome - 3/5/2005 10:11:31 PM

Howzit, Mags!

13997. judithathome - 3/7/2005 12:26:02 AM

We spent an unusual weekend at home, doing not much...washing the car, mowing the lawn, cleaning the house and goofing off.

Keoni was antsy by yesterday afternoon. Doesn't bode well for retirement.

13998. Magoseph - 3/7/2005 12:29:03 AM

I have a broken tooth and I'm very distraught—right now, I’m crying big tears.

13999. wonkers2 - 3/7/2005 12:56:27 AM

Too bad! But dentists can do wonders restoring broken teeth.

14000. arkymalarky - 3/7/2005 1:40:29 AM

Howdy!

14001. arkymalarky - 3/7/2005 1:42:06 AM

Sorry about the tooth, Mags.

14002. arkymalarky - 3/7/2005 1:45:06 AM

Judith,

I haven't hit a lick at a snake all weekend. I had my big day in Little Rock Wed, and I've just been worthless ever since. We're kind of hanging in until spring break. Bob's district inspection is in a couple of weeks and we've both got midterm grades due, then we'll be pretty routine until school's out. At least I hope.

We're going to WV for a conference at the first of April, but that should be fun, not stressful.
