One more try.

This is algerian again.

OK, I turned it off too!

Another question. Back in the States I could type in Greek. But here I can't. I have the same software, but a different printer. Is the printer the problem?

I must admit: This is really, REALLY impressive.

Congratulations to those of you who brought this excellent forum into operation.

My apologies (as usual) for being rude in the Old Fray Suggestions before it closed down. It goes with the history of the old Fray. But we'll try a new beginning...

After initial postings in the new Fray/Slate -- it got very boring and there's really nothing inviting about the way it's set up, now. In fact, after all my complaints launched at the "regulars" of the Old Fray, the fact is the editors of Slate killed the life & spirit of their forum. They got what they wanted: a bunch of people who slam their sloppy feedback on Slate articles, like automatons, without much thought or insightful discussion.

Again: Good work to all of you! I plan to pass the word on to friends and poets about the Mote.

Blaise...how about a Mote skit for Web's Story Thread!!! I was hoping you would join us...

124. KurtMondaugen - 9/12/1999 6:20:24 AM

test?

125. lemwalker - 9/12/1999 6:26:39 AM

yes,Kurt this is only a test. If it was the real thing you would recieve instruction over the radio.

126. CalGal - 9/12/1999 6:26:50 AM

Hey! Do you know you can put spaces in your id?

127. KurtMondaugen - 9/12/1999 6:31:07 AM

I tried yesterday, but was told that "Kurt Mondaugen" (with the space) was already taken, strangely enough. Didn't hear back from the "Gatekeeper", so I tried again sans space. Wa la!

128. CalGal - 9/12/1999 6:32:33 AM

Oh, maybe someone had used it to test with. Anyway, it's good to see you.

129. KurtMondaugen - 9/12/1999 6:34:35 AM

Good to be seen. Excellent work on the site, all around. I've been lurking from time to time over the past couple weeks and it's been fascinating to see the level of energy and dedication you all have shown in getting this up in such a relatively short time-span. Very impressive.

And it WORKS, to boot!

Or it seems to, anyhow.

130. Greystoke - 9/12/1999 6:34:39 AM

Algerian.

131. CalGal - 9/12/1999 6:35:21 AM

Really, Grey. There's no need to be insulting.

132. Greystoke - 9/12/1999 6:36:35 AM

Algerian

133. Greystoke - 9/12/1999 6:38:46 AM

Sorry, Cal.

Saudi Arabian

How about calling this place "The Toy Shop" ? As someone who has had the exciting, unnerving, exhilarating, embarrassing (all of the above) experience of screwing up royally in my Hosting Thread, it would provide an excellent place to PRACTICE .

135. Blaise - 9/12/1999 7:33:08 AM

Hi again,

Just wanted to share the ad on the cover of ForPoetry.com for The Mote. ForPoetry My small way of making up for previous insults. Although I have to say, er, I enjoy giving and getting insults once in a while. Call it a Love-Hate relationship with you guys.

I plan to include an ad on my next Update Email for ForPoetry -- and I'd like to mention The Mote as a "cafe" meeting place for poetry discussions. I'm thinking that perhaps I can invite some of the Big Names to come over and discuss their work or a poem. I know Joe Duemer would do it if I asked, providing he's not too busy.

Of course, we'd have to initiate a Pandora's Thread (oops! sorry, calm down) I mean a Poetry Thread for the adventure.

What do you think?

136. CalGal - 9/12/1999 7:37:09 AM

Hey, Blaise. Why not suggest the Poetry thread in Suggestions? And it's nice to see you. Don't forget to put target="new" in your link--it opens a new window.

137. Blaise - 9/12/1999 7:40:35 AM

Thanks CalGal and PP...

I'll post above message in Suggestions.

138. joezan - 9/12/1999 7:56:23 AM

Hey Blaise, Kurt!

Feels like Old Home Day.

139. bloodnfire - 9/12/1999 8:18:28 AM

How about calling this thread "The Toy Shop"? This would explain to those of us who are new to P.C.s what 'Toys' are, and give us a place to practice so that we can become EXPERT in HTMLLING

140. coralreef - 9/12/1999 8:20:39 AM

Or The Wading Pool. Try the Mote is fine until someone comes up with a clear winner.
