S'okay, Robert, I promise not to let anyone here kill and eat you.

14302. Ms. No - 3/24/2005 5:23:58 PM

Oh, lord, what is that from??

"They can kill me, but at least they can't eat me."

14303. Max Macks - 3/24/2005 5:30:41 PM

Morning folks,

Just lurking in briefy to say "HI" to Masoseph

whose name I may have misspelled

I have been seeing her (seeing in cyberspace i.e.)
in my forum WERDZ ..../

Her name looked so familiar but I didn't connect
it with The Mote until this morning.

14304. Ms. No - 3/24/2005 5:33:20 PM

Morning, Max!

14305. judithathome - 3/24/2005 5:47:26 PM

"He made the best homemade biscuits and bread pudding."

Wow, Arky, that must be a good omen for Keoni and me...heh.

And I recognized exactly where they lived!

14306. Ms. No - 3/24/2005 6:14:00 PM

Yeah, I loved that article --- and then I saw down at the bottom of the page what you were really linking to!

14307. arkymalarky - 3/24/2005 6:15:15 PM

Isn't that too cool? I had figured another older black couple from the same town had them beat, but I don't know. They're both dead now. They lived alone way up into their nineties (they didn't have children either...hmmm), finally went to the nursing home, and died within two weeks of each other.

When Bob's grandfather died at 86, the man came up to Bob at the cemetery (he was well over ninety then), looked at his grandfather's coffin, and said, "I taught that boy how to plow."

14308. arkymalarky - 3/24/2005 6:16:30 PM

Haha! I'm so subliminal.

See, now if that sweet little old couple had been bused to a big town school....

14309. arkymalarky - 3/24/2005 6:17:33 PM

"They can kill me, but at least they can't eat me."

Dad said his sargent used to tell them that before battle in Korea.
"Just remember: They can kill you, but they can't eat you."

Must've been a coach in his regular job.

14310. Max Macks - 3/24/2005 10:38:59 PM

Hi guys (and gals)

Where is Magoseph ?, I want her to know I got
her message in WERDZ.

btw . do you all use guys in the generic sense
to include men and women??

14311. robertjayb - 3/24/2005 10:51:56 PM

'you guys' is an abomination. Particularly when us southerners have a time-tested and perfectly servicable word that acomplishes the purpose with much more charm.

I give y'all y'all.

14312. Ms. No - 3/24/2005 10:57:23 PM

hahaha, you know what? I never learned to say "y'all" --I've always said "you guys". It's particular to my whole Southern family both those from the Carolinas and those from Texas.

Weird, huh?

14313. arkymalarky - 3/24/2005 11:02:36 PM

What is it Missouri people say? You'n's?

14314. thoughtful - 3/24/2005 11:20:48 PM

in brooklyn it's youse guys

14315. Magoseph - 3/25/2005 12:38:01 AM

Hello, everyone, it is nice to have you here, Max.

Ms. No, are you working tomorrow?

This morning, I walked five miles before I found out that I had to show some lots in the afternoon. It is an excruciating task and in the process, you freeze your butt while the interested parties take their sweet time looking, asking questions, and arguing with each other. Every muscle in my neck, back, and legs is protesting.--I am beat!

14316. Ms. No - 3/25/2005 12:43:33 AM

Yes, I'll be working a full day tomorrow. I've still got lots of stuff to double and triple check before I'll feel comfortable leaving town for a week. I know everything will likely be fine, but I worry anyway.

14317. Magoseph - 3/25/2005 5:48:48 PM

Tomorrow starts a whole week of temperature in the 40s here. I plan to rest my weary-self this weekend. Dear Moties, what are you going to do ?

Ms. No, I wish you a very wonderful holiday.

14318. Ms. No - 3/25/2005 6:13:18 PM

Thanks!

Right now I'm just trying to not make myself crazy trying to remember everything.

When it all boils down to it all I really need is to be at the airport on time with my passport.

14319. The Summer Woman - 3/25/2005 6:49:41 PM

Flying used to be such an adventure. Now it's an ordeal. Have a good trip, Ms. No.

14320. The Summer Woman - 3/25/2005 6:51:43 PM

It has come to my attention that there is quite a bit of interaction between the Religion thread here at The Mote, and The Demonizing Religion Thread at WX.

Would Moties mind if I put a link to The Mote over there?
