16156. Ms. No - 8/11/2005 6:18:49 PM

No gambling for me and we'll likely hit a movie but no shows. Mostly it's just a chance to sit down and catch up with dear friends that I don't see often enough.

16157. thoughtful - 8/11/2005 6:27:23 PM

I scored skeptical

16158. Magoseph - 8/11/2005 6:43:47 PM

Paranoid Cynic, that's me!

16159. Ms. No - 8/11/2005 7:55:24 PM

I also scored skeptical.

16160. judithathome - 8/11/2005 8:21:12 PM

I was a skeptic, too.

16161. Ms. No - 8/11/2005 8:44:26 PM

Why does none of this surprise me?

Well, duh. Because I'm a skeptic.

16162. wonkers2 - 8/11/2005 8:52:15 PM

Skeptical. (Not a very impressive test. Quite a few misspelt werdz.)

16163. Ms. No - 8/11/2005 9:52:04 PM

Yes, the site is full of such. It's enough to make you lament the state of public education in this country. Kids don't care if their parents don't care and teachers can only do so much.

16164. judithathome - 8/11/2005 10:09:09 PM

Well, what can you expect when NO ONE seems to care our President is in the same boat...he speaks like a rube.

16165. arkymalarky - 8/11/2005 10:30:59 PM

Wow, thanks Judith and Wonk!

16166. arkymalarky - 8/11/2005 10:32:17 PM

Alistair, your weekend sounds wonderful. I just feel all warm and fuzzy for you.

16167. arkymalarky - 8/11/2005 11:03:50 PM

Hey Mags! I didn't see your post until just now. I'll email you one. Anyone who knows my real name can probably google and find it, as well. But it is long--a whole hour.

16168. arkymalarky - 8/11/2005 11:08:18 PM

Have a great trip, MsNo. Nothing beats time with close friends, imo.

16169. Magoseph - 8/11/2005 11:45:26 PM

But it is long--a whole hour.

That's no problem for me, Arky. If people knew how many hours I spend reading every day, they'd think that I don't have a life.

16170. arkymalarky - 8/12/2005 12:54:59 AM

I think most of them in here would envy you the amount of time you can devote to reading.

(I'd much rather read than listen to me for an hour! ;-))

16171. alistairconnor - 8/12/2005 8:40:36 AM

If people knew how many hours I spend reading every day, they'd think that I don't have a life.

If people knew how many hours I spend reading, they'd think I HAD a life!

(Though I did actually finish a book last weekend)

16172. Magoseph - 8/12/2005 4:52:21 PM

I'd like to know what your plans for the weekend are for food, Ali? Will you bring home tonight some goodies from Lyon? Is your visitor a good cook?

16173. arkymalarky - 8/12/2005 5:45:09 PM

I've got to credit Thoughtful for the saying I used in the last line in that interview, btw: "The plural of anecdote is not data."

16174. arkymalarky - 8/12/2005 5:46:17 PM

Starting back to work after a really busy summer catching up from several years of neglecting things around here.

I'm glad to be back working and have a routine, and I'm glad we got so much done this summer so it won't be working on our minds while school is on.

But my schedule is jam packed this year.

16175. arkymalarky - 8/12/2005 5:49:20 PM

I'm very stressed about leaving Mazie during the day. We're doing some things with her pen to make it more secure and comfortable, but I'm thinking she ought to come be my classroom pet, or maybe change our mascot and use her for that.

I never thought about Diva, because in 6 years she was so dependable and routine, and before her confining a dog in this place was never a consideration. No one pens up their dogs out here, except the hunting dogs.
