Suspect, I'd say--because whoever likes to sleep until noon must want to escape something in his life, besides being lazy beyond words.

He was taken to the hospital because he thought he was having a heart attack--turns out that he had nothing, except that he panicked and made himself sick. He is having a wonderful life these days--he who worked very hard to assure a happy and prosperous old age is in fear that death will deprive him of this wish. I think he should not worry all that much, considering that we have a bunch or relatives still living well into their nineties.

Harsh mistress,
I think you get stuck here all the time, lacking night vision.

16322. Magoseph - 8/26/2005 10:30:31 AM

I don't suppose you're talking to me, but you might at that. So, tell me, what do you exactly mean by your last post--I have no vision about anything.

16323. Magoseph - 8/26/2005 10:30:59 AM

Are you waxing poetic again?

16324. Ulgine Barrows - 8/26/2005 10:37:45 AM

Nooooooo

I'm not waxing. The schism between those that prefer the sunset and the rise is large.

16325. Magoseph - 8/26/2005 10:47:02 AM

Well, I'd say that those who prefer the sunset and the rise want to escape the tedium of having to cope with boredom with people and tasks in their daily lives. Certainly, I belong to this category.

I bet it makes you laugh
watching me work so hard to reach you
you never gave a damn

Hello, Moties!

16329. Magoseph - 8/26/2005 1:00:42 PM

How are you this beautiful morning in our area, wonkers?

16330. Magoseph - 8/26/2005 1:01:36 PM

I wonder if Mac took off already for a long weekend.

16331. thoughtful - 8/26/2005 1:33:29 PM

Things aren't looking good for MIL. The word hospice has come up. Seems her skin is deteriorating badly...probably related to her PXE...a genetic disorder of the connective tissue.

Amazing that she's lasted this long with the disease. She's 91.

Hubby saw her yesterday and is going back today. Said she really looks bad.

Whatever it is, I hope it's quick and I hope they are keeping her full of pain meds. Hate to think that she's suffering at all. No way to tell really as she's noncommunicative at this point.

This really, really sucks.

16332. Magoseph - 8/26/2005 1:44:16 PM

What disease does she have? I can't remember which one.

16333. wonkers2 - 8/26/2005 2:27:00 PM

Hello, Mago. Yes, it's a fine Michigan day, cool and sunny. Yesterday was nice also.

16334. thoughtful - 8/26/2005 2:46:49 PM

PXE...pseudo xanthoma elasticum

16335. judithathome - 8/26/2005 7:16:55 PM

I woke up with a pinched nerve in my right hip and now that I've been up awhile, I seem to be getting a summer cold.

I'm a mess today.

16336. Magoseph - 8/26/2005 11:26:04 PM

There were many things happening around here until five. People coming from Chicago and escorted to the lots. I haven't stopped since early this morning, meeting with them, answering the phone, and going to different stores when Flexy took over the showings.

Anyway, thoughtful, I just looked up this PXE and now realize what it is. I hope that your MIL will be made peaceful until the end and I give to you and your husband my best regards in this trying time.

16337. arkymalarky - 8/27/2005 12:07:25 AM

I'm sorry to hear about your MIL, Thoughtful.

16338. arkymalarky - 8/27/2005 12:12:29 AM

I'm not, never have been, and likely never will be a morning person. So this first week of school has really been draining, as all the first weeks are for me. Bob likes to get to work early, and I like to leave at the last minute. I got my way when we worked and commuted together, but I don't think I would now. I relax with coffee and Mazie between when Bob leaves and when I have to leave.

I'm getting far more sleep now than I have in several years, since the surgery, and it's wonderful. I'd gotten so uncomfortable, besides being so busy and stressed, that I rarely got over three or four total hours of sleep a night.

My dad, who's very healthy and active, sleeps to around 10am every day. I'd have never thought he'd want to do that when he retired. He used to get up and run before work every morning.
