Hello, Mac--tell me, do you have some exciting plans this weekend for the wife and kiddies?

Last night, Flexy's daughter called and wanted us to go to her daughters' school show next week. The first thing I said to her was: you should talk to your dad about this because, as you must know by now, I am not the travel director around here and never was. I know your dad often uses me as an excuse for not accepting your invitations, you must know that I am not the deciding factor about traveling to Chicago.

Then, I went to Flexy and told him that this time, I preempted him and he better not say this time that it is I who doesn't like to get out of the house.

Looks like Butch's bath is not the only thng getting "foiled" around there. ;-)

No Mago, I do not have any plans for the family. I have two gunstocks to work on, one repair and one refinish, so I have to dedicate some time for that.

I have to measure up and draught a plan of the kitchen as my Missus wants to re-do the whole thing. I have a clay shoot I want to take part in, but I don't know that I'll have to the time to go, I'll have to see how things work out.

I'm going to keep most of Sunday clear so that we might head off somewhere or other, weather depending.

Yes, I am getting some gumption lately--no more of too much respect for a man who is twenty years old than me. I mean, I can bow to experience in financial matters, maybe political ones too, but I'll be darn if I'm going to help him make me the proverbial wicked step-mother.

16505. Magoseph - 9/8/2005 3:21:11 PM

Judith, how did last evening out with your friends go?

16506. Magoseph - 9/8/2005 3:24:39 PM

Well, Mac, It looks as the family will have a nice time and maybe, so will you.

16507. Magoseph - 9/8/2005 3:26:10 PM

Actually, I should rephrase this comment, Mac--you will have a nice time yourself because you will be with the family. There, better?

16508. Magoseph - 9/8/2005 3:27:24 PM

I think that I'm getting far too feisty--I'm going to take a nap now before tackling Butch.

16509. Ms. No - 9/8/2005 3:56:41 PM

Nah, we like you feisty!

16510. alistairconnor - 9/8/2005 4:15:57 PM

Looks like you're holding the whip hand now, Mago.

Harness up the coach and six! Off to Chicago. Fouettes, cocher!

16511. Ms. No - 9/8/2005 4:31:48 PM

How did the weekend go, Connor? Did you give us details and I missed them?

16512. alistairconnor - 9/8/2005 4:52:39 PM

Um um weekend. Nothing much. Got my mother back onto the plane on Saturday, back to NZ via Frankfurt and Singapore. She freaked me out by not having her tickets when we went to check in, I thought for a minute they were at home an hour's drive away, but they were in the car. She says this was her last trip, she's said it before but I believe her this time. Fading short-term memory is troublesome in three-hour layovers in big international airports, stuff like that.

So it'll be our turn to visit her next.

16513. Magoseph - 9/8/2005 4:54:30 PM

Nah, we like you feisty!

Ah, that's good, Ms. No--like our New Yorker friend always says: you gotta work at respect, you gotta earn it, you gotta demand it!.

16514. judithathome - 9/8/2005 7:49:46 PM

Magos, the afternoon and evening with our friends is Saturday...Keoni's birthday: Gallery Night, a play, and dinner, all with 12 of our friends. I just delivered the wine to the restaurant.

I did this after the meeting of the committee that is chosing candidates for village council and I was not chosen. They picked someone whose job is with Homeland Security at D/FW airport...no, not Jenerator, but a man who lives here in the village. I must say, I was relieved because I wasn't looking forward to the smear campaigns this place is known for. Now I can work to get this guy elected and not worry about having some jerk attack me. The guy seems very capable and I am sure he has more skills than I when it comes to admistration...of course, his campaign posters won't look as good as the ones I was planning but you can't have everything. ;-)

16515. Macnas - 9/9/2005 8:18:00 AM

Rained all night, still raining now.

Hmm, the river beckons me with its soft insistant murmured song...

16516. alistairconnor - 9/9/2005 9:03:35 AM

umm is the river lapping at your feet yet?
Get your gumboots on and call in the helicopters?

16517. Ulgine Barrows - 9/9/2005 9:28:02 AM

two drops of happy,
one drop of sad

16518. alistairconnor - 9/9/2005 9:32:14 AM

mixing your drinks?

Bitters? Sours?

16519. Ulgine Barrows - 9/9/2005 9:38:57 AM

Why don't you guess, allknowing Assumption.

I am trying to stop smoking.

How is your new woman, and the child arrangements?

16520. Ulgine Barrows - 9/9/2005 9:48:24 AM

Alistair ia a petty-wonk,
new lady doesn't like
his children

it's not the same
kissing them gooodnight
with that bitch
standing by

Pfffft.

I hope she has her own new lover.
