Abs,

Yes, it is good to catch up with old friends that you've lost touch with. I can't decide if it makes me feel older or younger, though. Mostly it's just a kind of coming home feeling.

Magos,

I'd love to see some of your knitting. I'm always amazed that anyone can make patterns in clothes out of a ball of string. At one point I thought I'd learn to knit --- I was due for jury duty and figured it would help pass the time --- but I was hopeless. I couldn't keep things regular enough or tight enough and all I was trying to do was make a baby blanket. Then I found out that I wouldn't be able to take knitting needles into the courthouse so I'd have to abandon my plan and then I never did find myself in the exact position to force myself to practice until I improved.

So somewhere in my apartment there are skeins of coral and butter-yellow yarn and a couple pairs of knitting needles that have hardly been used.

Ms. No--Once the ‘cable stitch long pullover with the interlaced hearts in front’ is finished, I'll get my son to take a picture of it, maybe on the intended recipient, if she is game. The design is not what I would have chosen, but I insisted on the beige color instead of the deep pink she would have preferred. Many hours of work are involved in this project, I told her and if she does not like it, then I can wear it.

Stitching is an art I never mastered. It is strange, because my mother was very good at it, and I picked up crotchery and embroidery with some enthusiasm.

16591. PelleNilsson - 9/14/2005 8:00:25 PM

Weaving too, for that matter.

16592. judithathome - 9/15/2005 12:04:07 AM

crotchery

I have no idea what this is but it sounds decidedly intriguing!

Crotchery . . .

I have an email in my in-box which is from "Do.Not.Reply@wc1.worldcrossing.com".

Anyone know what it might be? I haven't been to worldcrossing for some times, and am inclined to delete it without opening it.

16595. Ulgine Barrows - 9/15/2005 8:11:24 AM

I never follow Do.Not directions, but you'll have to search your own conscience on this.

16596. Macnas - 9/15/2005 8:15:58 AM

UB, I'd warrant that following direction of any kind rubs you up the wrong way.

It may be an admin. type message, and the only reason I have not deleted it already is because its from worldcrossing. I normally delete without opening any email I am not sure of.

16597. Ulgine Barrows - 9/15/2005 8:20:16 AM

Are you crossing the world? Have you had previous business with worldcrossing.com?

Read it ths instant, if so!

16598. PelleNilsson - 9/15/2005 8:24:50 AM

Wait a moment, Macnas, and I'll pop over to the WX host forum and see if there is any mention that kind of e-mail.

16599. Macnas - 9/15/2005 8:25:59 AM

Good man Pelle.

16600. Magoseph - 9/15/2005 8:27:49 AM

Good morning, Ulgine and Mac--PsychProf may be able to tell you what this email is about, Mac.

16601. Magoseph - 9/15/2005 8:28:49 AM

Oh, okay--Pelle is here and everything is fine.

16602. Magoseph - 9/15/2005 8:29:46 AM

Good morning to you, Pelle!

16603. Macnas - 9/15/2005 8:30:24 AM

Morning Mago!

16604. PelleNilsson - 9/15/2005 8:39:24 AM

Bonjour Mago!

There was nothing about e-mails but one poster reported an attempt to get through her firewall by somebody identified as "Worldcrossing". The sysop replied that it couldn't possibly have been. I haven't got any such mail, btw. If I were you I would delete it. It cannot be anything important anyhow, perhaps an invitation to subscribe.

16605. Macnas - 9/15/2005 8:43:52 AM

Done. Thank you Pelle.

I think our email security might be down or have some problems, I've had more than my usual share of nuisance emails this week.

16606. Ulgine Barrows - 9/15/2005 9:23:10 AM

He hasn't logged in for months and is now deleted.
