I wonder if it's what makes them fly.

17644. Macnas - 11/29/2005 8:27:28 PM

Actually, reindeer do eat fungus that gets them pretty high.

17645. Ms. No - 11/29/2005 10:13:24 PM

I KISS YOU!!!!

17646. arkymalarky - 11/29/2005 10:18:43 PM

Howdy all.

Came home with a migraine today. I never do that, but this booger will not let up.

17647. judithathome - 11/30/2005 2:26:55 AM

We're off to a band concert tonight...if it's half as good as the jazz ensemble one I went to two weeks ago, it will be fabulous!

17648. labwabbit - 11/30/2005 4:17:13 PM

Greetings thoughtful, MsNo, Judith-Baabee, Arkus!, & the venerable Mago.

Hope your holidays were great and rewarding.

Been awhile since coming here. The place looks nice...feels like home.

17649. thoughtful - 11/30/2005 5:00:12 PM

hey labwabbit! nice to 'see' you again.

17650. labwabbit - 11/30/2005 5:04:43 PM

I don't get to post much in the past two years. Career change, inconsistent schedule, and being at sea at least 50% of the year. When I do have a moment, I do get to RI for a post or two, but far and few between.

I miss you guys, and have been thinking about what became of the crew that came together here, now, so many years ago.
How quickly the time does get away from us.

17651. labwabbit - 11/30/2005 5:05:39 PM

...and it SURE is nice to see you again as well thoughtful.

17652. alistairconnor - 11/30/2005 5:16:59 PM

Hey a wabbit in a ship is supposed to be very unlucky.

Greetings maritime rodent.

17653. wonkers2 - 11/30/2005 5:23:24 PM

Cap'n Dirty sez, "Shiver me timbers. Welcome back, matey!"

17654. labwabbit - 11/30/2005 5:23:56 PM

alistairC,
Hello! (I think I'm having a deja vu flashback)

haha..it is unlucky for those who fall from regulatory compliance. Been through three nasty storms in past two weeks, most recent last fri-sat. 30'+ seas and 75kt winds. They call them her-canes elsewhere..gales here. I'm still sporting bruises from all three.

What's keeping you trim and fit these days?

17655. labwabbit - 11/30/2005 5:25:04 PM

Ahhh yes! The ol' Cap'n Dirty!!

Hahaha...a blast from the past just went by..

17656. alistairconnor - 11/30/2005 5:26:49 PM

Riding public bicycles around town.

A green leftie dream of a public transport system. This morning, the last bike left on the rack had a badly warped back wheel, I took it anyway but it was like pedaling up a steep hill. I arrived at the occupational health centre all hot and sweaty. Pleasant for the lady doctor.

17657. wabbit - 11/30/2005 5:29:59 PM

Arky, congrats to Mose! Or is it congrats to her betrothed and good luck to her? Either way, best wishes for them both. And I hope you are feeling better today.

labwabbit, in case we don't see you again for a bit, Happy Holidays!

(that is meant cover the whole season, not to piss off the Christmas sensitive)

17658. labwabbit - 11/30/2005 5:58:52 PM

alistair,

I would think hot and sweaty could be a welcome thing at a health center. Public bicycling? As in pay as you go?
That would have a very receivable application where I live...despite the rain I think.

17659. labwabbit - 11/30/2005 6:08:18 PM

Hahaha wabbit. Ah yes, the delusional interpretations of the PC crowd.
Ya know, with all this PC-ness with reference to the "holiday" season, one has got to wonder why or how long the "holiday" spending will continue at such a frenetic pace. I mean, will the pressure to provide gifts dissipitate as just another time of year eventually?

Really, like Santa/Rudolf et al, were they not originally advertisement campaigns that were wildly sucessful? Why just the other day I seen a battery operated toy where a reindeer with lights on its' antlers was gyrating on a hapless "grandma" holding a cane while the song Grandma Got Run-Over by a Reindeer played. Wasn't this just a silly song a couple of years back?

17660. judithathome - 11/30/2005 6:08:30 PM

Hey!! My favorite LabWabbit!! Missed you madly!

17661. alistairconnor - 11/30/2005 6:09:07 PM

Practically free. 5 euros a year, and the first half hour is free (50 cents a half hour after that). Electronic bike stations scattered all over the city. You wave your magnetic card at the terminal, choose a bike number from the list, the system unlocks it from its bollard, and you ride away.

Fine in theory. About 30% of my point-to-point trips are trouble-free in practice. First problem : the system is a victim of its own success: the station I can see from my office window has plenty of bikes available now (it's 5pm) but I can be sure none of those left when I finish around 7 will be in working order... I'll have to go to another, less-known station. The opposite problem is frequent too : I get to my girlfriend's place, an easy 15 minute ride away, and the station nearby is full.

17662. Ms. No - 11/30/2005 6:21:22 PM

Woo-hoo it's Labwabbit! How great to see you!
