Mose is doing great, and she's a junior this year. She'll graduate a year from May. She gave up the music major, though, and is going into political science with Spanish and writing as a double minor. Don't know where to from there, but she's planning to get married two weeks after she graduates. Her fiance already has a degree in communications, but he wants to teach so he may go for his certification this year. He gives drum lessons on the side and loves it. They're also in a rock band together (they met when he was working as a DJ and asked for people to audition for their band while he was on the radio--she heard it and called when she was a senior in high school and got the "job" and they started dating), so she gets her music fix without marching band.

engaged! My goodness!

I'm glad she's doing well. She was always such a neat kid. And you'll chuckle - occasionally when Rosie gets exercised at me, I mock-scowl at her and say - 'cookienanabutteronit - RAISIN BRAN!'

17907. arkymalarky - 12/20/2005 7:42:37 PM

Hahahaha! I'll have to tell Mose that!

17908. arkymalarky - 12/20/2005 7:44:05 PM

And I can't imagine such a bright smile could ever get exercised at Mom!

17909. theDiva - 12/20/2005 7:46:53 PM

heh. That one is a firecracker.

17911. Ms. No - 12/20/2005 7:57:03 PM

How could she not be?

17912. alistairConnor - 12/21/2005 12:52:27 AM

Swoon!

Cheers Divine one.

17913. alistairConnor - 12/21/2005 12:59:39 AM

ummm... missed you by a mere five hours eh?

Maybe next year. Have a good one.

Well, I got an early "holiday" present: the plumber/handyman came today and cut into my bathroom floor...where, since this past summer, my shower and toilet haven't worked and had previously flooded the garage. Seems something cured itself and he didn't charge me for the work but will come back next week and repair the floor and the flooring if nothing happens in the meantime like a huge leak which was happening before. Nothing leaked today after he ran the water in both places for 30 minutes and the toilet has worked just fine all afternoon...will use the shower tomorrow and I expect it to work fine since half an hour of water drained fine today and I don't take half an hour showers, by any means.

I'd had another plumber come in the summer, when the problem first came up. He snaked it and I suspect it just gradually cleard itself out, especially after the village guys came last month and flushed out the sewer system and caused a power surge which blew out 2 neighbors' pipes, causing them to have mega bills with replacing the blown pipes. Evidently, this action just cleared mine. ;-)

DIVA!!!! Sorry I missed you, glad to hear all is well. The girls are fab!

Hello, everyone!
Check this out, Judith!

Panoramas from Hawaii

Today is the winter solstice. Sunrise here in Stockholm at 8.46 am, sunset at 2.48 pm.

17918. Dubai Vol - 12/21/2005 1:19:17 PM

Happy Solstice, everyone! Lest we forget, this is the REAL reason for the holiday season.

17919. alistairConnor - 12/21/2005 2:40:43 PM

You filthy pagan, sir. Merry heart-of-darkness everyone.

Below zero all week here, freezing fogs off and on, but only icing-sugar snow. We'll go to a little ski station tomorrow, hour and a half away, if it looks like being sunny.

17920. Magoseph - 12/21/2005 3:18:51 PM

Ali, when you’re saying “below zero”, are you using Fahrenheit or Celsius?

My step-daughter sent us this picture from a Tapei restaurant to illustrate the difficulties her company sometimes has working with Asians.

I think that same guy has written the assembly instructions for many of my cheaper workshop accessories.

17923. Magoseph - 12/21/2005 6:24:48 PM

Did you ever visit this church, Wiz?

17924. judithathome - 12/21/2005 6:56:39 PM

Magos, I saved that site for Keoni! We've been to all those places except for the ones on Molokai.

17925. Magoseph - 12/21/2005 7:46:43 PM

Here, Judith, look at this man's album--he has some terrific pictures of the place
