17944. arkymalarky - 12/23/2005 11:33:48 PM I go back the 2nd, which is a day too soon, imo. I need that business day to finish up all the things I try to get done on this break without having to take off work, especially since I'm going to have such a full schedule this spring. We're off for MLK Day, but everything's closed that day. We go 190 days by law, regardless of when we take them, and I usually try to catch up at Christmas and at the end of school and stay behind most of the rest of the year. 17945. anomie - 12/24/2005 1:19:35 AM Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Everyone.
Thanks for hosting the thread so well, Mags. I see you're always on the job.
Congrats on the car Arky - nice present to yourself.
Thanks for the chuckles and the beautiful pics, Wiz.
Judith...a special hello.
Wonks2...Stay warm up there!
Let's be careful out there. 17946. arkymalarky - 12/24/2005 5:56:39 AM Thanks Anomie. The nausea is subsiding from signing yet another dotted line and I think I'm going to enjoy it by the time I start back to work.
I hope you have a great Christmas, along with all the other Moterheads! 17947. judithathome - 12/24/2005 8:26:52 AM Arkie, y'all need to drive down on the 31st and spend New Year's day with us at the big party!
And Frankster, reserve that summer date for the big bash at the Arky's....MsNo is coming so it would be a shame if you missed it this year! 17948. PelleNilsson - 12/24/2005 12:19:10 PM A Merry Christmas to everybody! 17949. thoughtful - 12/24/2005 4:54:38 PM Just stopping in to wish everyone a very merry xmas. Hope you all overindulge a little, smile a lot, and enjoy the company of loved ones. 17950. Magoseph - 12/24/2005 5:23:54 PM Je vous souhaite à tous un joyeux noël et une bonne année!
17951. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 12/24/2005 6:46:50 PM Mercy buckets, Monet me! 17952. arkymalarky - 12/24/2005 9:00:45 PM Oooooh I'd love to, Judith, and I intend to make it soon--if not next year then DEFINITELY the year after, when I'll be done with grad school. Bob's off Monday the 2nd, but I have to work, which I think is dumb. I promised Dad I'd have his book edited by Jan 2 and I haven't even started on it, and my grades are due the same day--haven't done a lick on them, either.
I may have to go into hiding for the New Year. 17953. arkymalarky - 12/24/2005 9:01:43 PM What Judith said, Frank! We'd all really love to see you there! 17954. arkymalarky - 12/24/2005 9:03:03 PM Thoughtful, your table in the Good Life thread is gorgeous! It actually loaded pretty quickly for me.
17955. ElliottRW - 12/25/2005 2:13:11 AM Just wanted everyone to know that I wish you all have a happy. 17956. arkymalarky - 12/25/2005 3:03:12 AM You too Elliott! 17957. Magoseph - 12/25/2005 5:10:22 PM Have a nice one, Elliott. 17958. judithathome - 12/25/2005 5:25:17 PM I'm leaving a little Christmas present for everyone in Mote Fiction...it's Keoni's annual story and he insisted I print it out for y'all.
Merry Christmas to all the Moties from both of us! 17959. judithathome - 12/25/2005 5:30:12 PM (I realize some of you won't be happy with the story but keep in mind, it was written for a specific audience.) 17960. wonkers2 - 12/25/2005 5:49:09 PM Merry Christmas to all from W2 and The Cap'n! 17961. wonkers2 - 12/25/2005 6:18:22 PM Keoni's Christmas story is well done and well worth reading. 17962. arkymalarky - 12/25/2005 6:50:41 PM Yes it is, and I hope he has a great Christmas! 17963. thoughtful - 12/26/2005 4:22:20 AM Hope everyone enjoyed their xmas.
me I'm just delighted to have been the recipient of 2 superb gifts from my hubby
2 lbs. of solid 72% chocolate
Complete New Yorker on DVD
What a combination! I've already soaked up a few thurbers and eb whites...not to mention a few Peter Arno and Chas Addams toons, and a most interesting article about a man from latvia in the 1930s who kept writing enormous checks to people who showed him a kindness on an account at a bank which no longer exists.
Simply luscious.
