I don't remember how old I was but if I had to put it in chronological order, I'm sure my learning about Santa came BEFORE my period, not after!
No, she's not home schooled but goes to a very good public school...these folks live in a very expensive section of a very expensive town, and both husband and wife are well educated and making 6 figure incomes each. They aren't overly religious and while he's of a conservative bent having gone to UChic for his MBA, he's dumped all over W enough not to be considered a radical anything.
Perhaps the daughter is more like Ms No's mom or polly anna and just wants to avoid adulthood as long as possible.
I feel badly for the girl as she's just been diagnosed with severe scoliosis and is facing 18 hr days of being in a back brace for the next 18 mos...and that's the best prognosis. Otherwise it's heavy-duty back surgery. Not fun. Esp since she and her family are very athletic. And of course being that age, you really want to be normal and look your best.
