Had blood drawn today and this is the first time I've had no bruising! The lab tech was a wizard! 18339. thoughtful - 1/27/2006 11:29:34 PM Well, hubby DOESN'T have the flu. Hubby has a kidney infection. Took him to the immediate care joint last night as his fever spiked to 105!
Doc was stunned to see him sitting up and talking fine. He expected to find him either delerious or comatose.
He's on antibios now which should clear it up and we've got a follow-up booked with our doc to get to the root cause of this. She said she was asleep and woke up to the water rising around her bed...she grabbed a long skirt and pulled it up as a dress and crawled into her attic and broke the window there and was rescued by her neighbor in a boat...they got to the sea wall and their picture was taken by two college students recording the events surrounding Katrina.

 18349. thoughtful - 1/30/2006 5:59:53 AM Thanks for asking...he sees our regular doc on monday am and he's under strict instructions from me not to leave without a scrpt for more antibios...reading on the internet it's not unusual esp for men to get 3 weeks or more to make sure the infection is gone as it can be very difficult to get rid of and not ridding it means a potential for chronic problems and antibios resistance.
the antibios do seem to be working though as today was the first day his fever was down since it began and he's just starting to look a little better, though he still tires very easily. 18350. On Sunday, we couldn't find the group that was collecting petitions; it was a madhouse down there and we gave up after driving around for half an hour looking for a parking space.
THEN, our Chinese New Year's dinner was cancelled due to one couple and two others who were sick...so Keoni and I went to a local Chinese place that was good about 8 years ago....heh. You know what's coming: it was under new ownership and just dreadful...I don't mean just bad but dreadful. I ordered Moo Gu Gai Pan and they brought the pork mixture, which was not even hot, and 10 minutes later they brought the "pancakes" which were stone cold (and they weren't pancakes at all but spring roll wrappers that were half-thawed)...by this time, I was disenchanted and we asked for the check. The waitress asked if I wanted to take the rest of my meal home and I was so angry, I was rude. I said "No, I do not...I didn't even want to eat it here" We complained to the guy at the register and he just looked at us blankly and as we left he said "Come back soon" in a cheery voice and Keoni turned and said "Not a chance!"
The only good thing about the meal was that we didn't get ptomaine.
