18531. Magoseph - 2/14/2006 2:37:08 PM Hi, Mac!
It was a very enjoyable conversation and I’m now envious of the time Ms. No and Ulgine can devote to hobbies.
I think my problems keeping Flexy resting and healing are over--He hurt his left shoulder yesterday and it took a while to realize how he did it because he was not about to tell about it, not wanting to hear, I suppose, the infamous: “I told you so!”
In the morning, I had brought back two-forty-pound-each bags for the water softener and left them near the front door. Sometimes during the day, probably while I was out shopping or with the dog, Flex carried the two bags across the length of the house and down the basement’s stairs, two long trips in the state he is.
Now, the broken ribs are acting up, as he put it, and his left shoulder and left wrist hurt and he’s very sorry--right where I want him so that I won’t be anymore so fearful to leave him alone. 18532. I can't remember the last time I did some needle work. I can't remember the last time I played the keyboard.
Dang this working full time sure takes a chunk out of my day. 18534. thoughtful - 2/14/2006 4:12:57 PM MsNo, you're absolutely right about trying stuff you want to do. I have 2 saris hubby brought back with him from a trip to india and I've never done a thing with them as I'm so afraid of ruining them. I think by now the one with silver threads in it is starting to tarnish.
Of course, now my excuse is i'm saving it for the new house ...that also will never be finished at this point! 18536. Magoseph - 2/14/2006 5:58:13 PM 18535 deleted and reposted

Amen! I already have plans for a year and a half from now--I'll be done with school, rural schools will either be saved or they won't, and I'm going to do my job and enjoy my home life and hobbies!
18544. arkymalarky - 2/15/2006 7:34:57 AM Happy anniversary to a great couple!
And happy Valentine's Day, Moterheads! 18545. concerned - 2/15/2006 10:36:25 AM I found another reason to be careful regarding using your real name as a moniker in chat groups. Some prospective employers will Google an applicant's name that they're interested in and if they find a bunch of hits they don't like, they shitcan their application. This was revealed in a discussion forum direct from the horse's mouth. Something to think about.
Just to check on this, I Googled: PelleNilsson "The Mote" and got 1600 hits. I also Googled: concerned "The Mote" and got 42,000 hits, but none that I saw related to myself as a poster. 18546. Magoseph - 2/15/2006 2:35:21 PM Good morning, concerned, how are you? 18547. Ms. No - 2/15/2006 8:14:09 PM So I took the plunge and cut the actual hide last night. And did a damn fine job of it, if I do say so myself! Now I want a really big table with a thick cutting surface. For the time being I'm making do with my oak trestle table and a foot square piece of rubber that I just keep scooting around underneath the leather so I don't cut through to the table top.
I got all the separate pieces cut out last night and tonight I punch holes. That'll be thrilling. Not. ;->
18548. PsychProf - 2/15/2006 8:39:17 PM Ms No hahahahaha I read that not knowing the context. 18549. Ms. No - 2/15/2006 8:44:06 PM Sounds a bit barbaric, doesn't it? I admit, I felt a bit barbaric with the granite slab and the mallet and metal stamping tools and chisels strewn about. 18550. PsychProf - 2/15/2006 8:45:18 PM Was it a date you were working on? 18551. Ms. No - 2/15/2006 10:53:03 PM Fringed leather purse. I'm still trying to decide how I want to do the strap, whether I want to make it flat or braid it. I'm leaning toward the braid.
