18808. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 3/9/2006 8:23:07 AM Happiest wishes, Mags! 18809. Magoseph - 3/9/2006 1:40:34 PM Grazie, Wiz!
Cap'n, are you invited to the wedding?
Hello, Mac and Ali!
18810. alistairconnor - 3/9/2006 2:06:26 PM There's probably already a restraining order on the Cap'n. 18811. Macnas - 3/9/2006 2:16:26 PM Hello Mago. 18812. thoughtful - 3/9/2006 6:06:09 PM Mags, don't fret. A number is just a state of mind.
I'm reaching a milestone at the end of this month and I'm actually looking forward to celebrating it. My hubby and mother are throwing me a party and I've decided to invite my old buds from work who I haven't seen in a couple of decades.
Of course, it's purely accidental that they're all older than I and I'll still be the youngest one in the room! 18813. Magoseph - 3/9/2006 10:53:09 PM It's not the number that bothers me, thoughtful, but rather the festivities in honor of it that I resent--namely, the requisite flowers, perfumes, or doodads that I really do not need or want—the heavy meal I must eat, etc. I feel the same way on Mothers’ Day, Christmas, all holidays, in fact. 18814. Magoseph - 3/9/2006 10:57:49 PM And anyway, we're young compared with what we may be eventually. 18815. Magoseph - 3/9/2006 10:59:47 PM Judith is seeing her doctor at this moment--I hope she comes here and tells us what he found about her leg. 18816. anomie - 3/9/2006 11:58:53 PM Fingers crossed. 18817. thoughtful - 3/10/2006 12:03:31 AM True, I hope I'm significantly younger than what I hope to eventually be...in fact I'm wondering if I'm yet at middle age. I do intend to live beyond 100, esp since my maternal grandparents made it to 98 and 99. Given medical advances by that time, that should be an easy milestone to cross. 18818. thoughtful - 3/10/2006 12:03:43 AM Provided I don't get run over by a bus! 18819. anomie - 3/10/2006 12:09:10 AM I'm significantly younger than what I hope to eventually be...
Funny! And profound. And true! Great quote. I'll have to remember this one. 18820. arkymalarky - 3/10/2006 12:26:02 AM You're blessed to have so many people who love you and love to show it, Mags. 18821. wonkers2 - 3/10/2006 12:28:49 AM Mags, we have a restraining order on the Cap'n. He's not allowed withing 100 miles of the wedding. W2 18822. arkymalarky - 3/10/2006 12:29:04 AM We got to all spend about an hour sitting in the hall this morning for a tornado warning. 18823. thoughtful - 3/10/2006 12:55:28 AM that's unusual this time of year, no? 18824. arkymalarky - 3/10/2006 1:13:08 AM No, we're in tornado season, and the most common time for tornadoes here is between March and June. In AR, though, time means nothing. We've had them here in December. Cold weather isn't consistent through the winter months, and because of our fluctuations, tornadoes can happen any time of year. "Tornado season," though, is March to June. 18825. judithathome - 3/10/2006 4:45:02 AM Sorry to be so late in arriving...my leg has fractures and nothing more...they are in the weak places where the broken leg healed. I have to stay off my leg for 6 to 8 weeks and use crutches.
My arms are already aching. 18826. woden - 3/10/2006 4:54:33 AM Glad its nothing too dire, Judith. Here's hoping the 6-8 weeks flies by. 18827. wonkers2 - 3/10/2006 5:45:45 AM Judith, look at the plus side--you'll end up with arms like Schwarzenegger!
