Hello, Moties—-great day in store for us---they say it'll be 50 degrees later in the morning and this time I believe it will.

Hi Mago, WERDZ and some other forum that

This is a first for me.

We're just too busy today reading what's going on in the other threads. Max.

19097. arkymalarky - 4/6/2006 11:14:19 PM

Hey Mags. How's it going?

19098. arkymalarky - 4/7/2006 12:04:43 AM

Where's Judith? Isn't today the day she was going to the doctor?

19099. judithathome - 4/7/2006 12:45:49 AM

The doctor's appointment was fine...he says I am making a little progress and over the next four weeks I should start to wean myself off the boot and the crutches. Cautiously, as I plan to do.

As we were leaving the doctor's office, a car in front of us stopped at the light and the back door opened and a 6-7 year old boy tried to get out, only to be grabbed by the male driver and thrown back into the car. We were going the same direction as the car...getting onto the freeway...and twice the kid tried to open the door of the moving car.

Patti (my friend who drove me) and I were appalled and I called 911 from her cell and she followed the guy for a few miles at top speed until we were able to relay the car's tag number to the 911 operator.

That was truly frightening...Patti was a trouper, hitting 85mph at one point...guess it was her time in Germany and on the autobahn!

Going fine, Arky, and you, enjoying the break? I finally dragged Flexy to the eye doctor and he's going to have surgery for cataracts next week.

Pretty frightening episode, Judith.

19101. arkymalarky - 4/7/2006 1:55:40 AM

Oh my lands. That's really scary. I hope he's alright.

19102. arkymalarky - 4/7/2006 1:57:38 AM

Mags, this is the only day I have off, and I've been pretty worthless. I just really needed to take a day for me, but I will pay for it by doing double duty until I get those two papers written.

I hope Flexy does a lot better with the surgery. Bob's mother has cataracts, but the dr didn't seem to think she needed surgery yet unless she wanted it.

19103. arkymalarky - 4/7/2006 1:58:42 AM

I had taken her on Monday. And I meant I hope the boy's alright, though I certainly hope Flexy's surgery goes well, too.

Something really nice happened today....

I don't know if anyone recalls that January 2005, a family here in the village lost their house and every single thing they owned in a fire. We went to a fund-raising dinner for them and donated lots of stuff as "the village" but individuals also donated things and I gave them a set of china, service for 8 and with serving pieces.

Today they ran a story about the family moving back in to the rebuilt house and I was reading along, thinking oh how nice and then, in the last sentence I nearly started weeping...the sentence said "Mrs. Lee says she thinks of Judith Spencer every single day when she sets the table with the beautiful china dishes she donated for the family."

19105. arkymalarky - 4/7/2006 2:35:36 AM

Oh how nice!

19106. RickNelson - 4/7/2006 9:23:19 AM

Hey back to yah, arky.

Andrea is doing fine these days. Lucky for her she missed most of the illness. She's had it once, and that messed her up in one class. It's hard to maintain when that happens.

This week is another round of big tests, and a big paper. She's also been asked to be maid of honor, and two busy friends are going to be around. She's a bit over wrought with it all. Still, she's young, and two years older than she, we had her, while both parents were in college, and I worked around 30 hours a week. Whew!

Seems odd to compare, like I'm old. However, with Jacob, the little whirlwind, I've gotten to revisit a lot of the old days. I love horsey back, and floor monkey-business. I bought floor mats so we could play and not get hurt. My family room is tiled, and the mats work great.

Remember toddler scoot cars? He's had a fire engine since last June and he loves it. It makes a lot of sounds and voices, obnoxiously good stuff.

His daycare is going great too. He's getting a lot of exposure to new things and playmates. The illnesses have been occasionally rough, and they're frequent, but we expected it. The cost is freakin' outragious, but the benefits have outwayed looking around. The program is within the school district, and has good oversite and staff. The facility is great too.

That's all for now.

Hi, Rick, nice news, will comment later.

Hi, Mac and everyone!

I must run to town now and get the lovely man here his reward for not being the difficult patient he always is in doctors' offices. I think he was stunned in to good behavior by the findings. We made a pact that if I want to take him to a doctor, he won’t find excuses to postpone the visit.

19108. wonkers2 - 4/7/2006 1:21:52 PM

Nobody looks forward to doctors visits!

Good morning, Mago.

19109. arkymalarky - 4/7/2006 2:46:18 PM

Great news, Rick! Thanks so much for the update.

Good luck to Flexy, Mags.
