I was taught katana (and bo and hanbo and shuriken and knives and ropes/chains...,) but only combat situations, not sport. Not sure how I'd do with rules... a lot of what we learned are what my Dad calls "dirty fighting." (Which sounds redundant to me.)

Pure sport fencing, no mixed weapons, a bit of Ren fighting purely for fun, sword and choice of additional weapon. Tiger Spawn was invited to one of these invitation only events a number of weeks ago.
