I had to explain to my mother that those were the things that were out on the counter when Mamaw had needed to do some quick straightening up. I knew this because I do it too. I'll sweep a little clutter into a box with all the good intentions in the world of going back later when I have more time to sort through it and get rid of the things I don't actually need.

Me, too!!

Someone is going to have such fun at my estate sale!

I've already given my son the name of the estate agent he shoud use for our sale; I know her; she's as compulsive as I am!

I agree, your place is a treasure trove!!

(You've got mail, Missy!)

Yes it is. With Judith's house interesting details just stay in my mind, whatever room I think about.

After my mother died last year I found love letters to her from my Dad. But it was my Dad who had kept both sides of the correspondance, in a box in his shed, she would not have known he had done this. Dad was hilariously romantic, her replies were, apart from a couple of lapses, very down to earth. I also found my plaits, they would be 47 years old, in a box, tied at each end with stained blue ribbon. very creepy and moving. She had probably forgotten they were there.

Despite the fact I hate, hate, hate the fact these three monster McMansions are going up practically in my back yard, there IS a bright side. The young carpenters working on them are glorious...muscular, tanned, beautiful bodies glistening in the sun. Superb eye candy!

Neato, that sounds sooo cool!

I have a few journals that I hope my son takes time to read after I'm gone. I may have to point them out to him, though.

However, he went through all my parent's stuff and found interesting things so maybe he'll take the time to do that with mine, too. My one fear is that he will think some of my good jewelry is costume and just sell it all way too cheaply. I have a huge collection of vintage stuff that is worth quite a bit. For this reason, we've already given him the name of an estate agent we trust.

Off to my bachelor's party.

since I'm not into strip clubs or smoky bars... we're doing a cookout at the gun range. I thought you guys might appreciate this.

Stress level is nominal. P and her mom have been fighting (bad) this week and I think finally reconciled.

I finally got P looking forward to the whole wedding thing. She wanted to elope, but I think it's important to do it in front of people. However, it sort of mushroomed a little which has had her stressed. We're pleased with the mixed (mostly jewish) service.

Party should be fun.

c'ja.

When is the wedding, iiibbb?

19487. arkymalarky - 5/27/2006 4:50:16 PM

Have a great time, 3i3b. And don't pull any Cheneys.

I empathize with P.

Ulgine, I can appreciate your stream of consciousness posts as much as the next guy but why don't you try expressing yourself in your own words occasionally? It might be of help to those of us who haven't a clue about pop or rap or whatever sort of music your typing out.

IIIBBB, best wishes to you and your bride. Our son's recent wedding ceremony was mixed Hindu and Christian, mostly Hindu. It worked out very well.

19491. arkymalarky - 5/27/2006 11:58:57 PM

It seems to be a little of everything from Nine Inch Nails to Bob Dylan. And do I recall Ulgine saying something about getting some kind of lyric software for Christmas? Or am I making that up?

Ooooh, 3i3b needs to look at your pictures in Escapes, and I do too. They went up before I subscribed to this web accelerator and I never got to see them.

19492. arkymalarky - 5/28/2006 12:44:58 AM

Great pictures, Wonk, and your daughter-in-law is stunning.

19493. wonkers2 - 5/28/2006 3:41:16 AM

Thanks, Arky. We are very happy. I put the one with my eyes shut by mistake. I think I put the one I intended to put up on the Cafe or in some other thread.

Every month seems to bring a spate of coerced contrition. How many of these do you remember?

Hard to believe that John McCain said that !

19498. Magoseph - 5/28/2006 10:30:48 AM

And good morning to all--Any interesting plans for this weekend? Here, doing nothing at all, except eat, sleep, and cuddle.
