IIIBBB, best wishes to you and your bride. Our son's recent wedding ceremony was mixed Hindu and Christian, mostly Hindu. It worked out very well.

It seems to be a little of everything from Nine Inch Nails to Bob Dylan. And do I recall Ulgine saying something about getting some kind of lyric software for Christmas? Or am I making that up?

Ooooh, 3i3b needs to look at your pictures in Escapes, and I do too. They went up before I subscribed to this web accelerator and I never got to see them.

Great pictures, Wonk, and your daughter-in-law is stunning.

Thanks, Arky. We are very happy. I put the one with my eyes shut by mistake. I think I put the one I intended to put up on the Cafe or in some other thread.

Every month seems to bring a spate of coerced contrition. How many of these do you remember?

Hard to believe that John McCain said that !

And good morning to all--Any interesting plans for this weekend? Here, doing nothing at all, except eat, sleep, and cuddle.

Malibu is coming for breakfast...and then Keoni and I are going this afternoon for a BBQ at our neighbor's pool...he is great at turning out masterpieces from the grill. No swimming today for the grownups, though...too many grandkids in the water because pool guy has his kids and their kids visiting.

In fact, Keoni made a big tray of biscuits and a pan of gravy for that gang and took them down there earlier this morning. Luckily for Malibu and me, he saved back a few for us!

Oh my! Keoni biscuits and gravy. Sounds like a great day for everyone all around.

We're going on a country drive today and otherwise staying home. I just filled out my summer calendar, and since the whole month of June is booked this is going to be a laid-back, house-focused week for me. I have to work a couple of hours Tuesday at school and I'm hoping to spend the rest of the week getting my house in order with Mose's help.

Hey, a semilennial.

19502. alistairconnor - 5/29/2006 10:35:13 AM

iiibbb : I guess it's all over bar the shouting (!)
So here's to weddings without shotguns, and many happy anniversaries!

I think it's important to do it in front of people.
Well, whatever turns you on...

19503. RickNelson - 5/29/2006 1:28:46 PM

Congrats iiibbb!

19504. Magoseph - 5/30/2006 2:12:13 PM

Hello, dear Moties, how are you?

Judith, how was the pool party?

Arky, did you see anything interesting on your country drive?

iiibbb, you must tell us something about the bachelor's party, please.

Ali, how did your Venice’s trip go?

19505. jexster - 5/30/2006 4:29:41 PM

Dick's Thought for the Day

Some have said they broke the mold after I was made.
    Thank Heavens I got made!

19507. alistairconnor - 5/30/2006 5:12:15 PM

Venice was still there.

I will file a report shortly.

19508. jexster - 5/30/2006 6:31:04 PM

Stayed at the Royal Danelli did you? I remember it well - Venice that is..10 y.o. with grandfather. Nice hotel just off St. Mark's Sq. Could see the side of the Cathedral just out the room window/

Murano, Burano, Torcello, lotsa gelato, getting lost in the narrows of back canals, climbed the Campanile three times..was juiced on campanille climbing in those days for some reason now lost

19509. arkymalarky - 5/30/2006 9:12:04 PM

Arky, did you see anything interesting on your country drive?

Thanks for asking, Mags. We didn't go anywhere new, so nothing stands out as interesting, but it was all very pleasant. We drive much of the same route 185 days a year--Bob his part and I mine. Mine's much better because Bob's is interstate. I showed Bob my classroom and we went to his classroom, and we had a great small-town lunch buffet, which is like the best of Southern holiday family potluck, and stuffed ourselves to the gills. As heathens we beat the church crowd and nothing was cold or picked over.

We used to drive a lot of weekends, but we got busy and gas got high and we never do it now. Old couples still drive by our house on weekends, though, so apparently it's still a common activity out here.

Today was my last day at work and we had a fish fry. It was also great.
