Incredibly good luck with the holiday choices : Normandy could have been cool and muddy, instead it was the best place in France to do some serious cycling in a developing heatwave.
And what a great summer to visit Ireland! They were complaining about the heat and drought, but we were never seriously inconvenienced, to put it mildly : i.e. we were only cold a couple of times, and it's true that it only rained on us two days out of seven.
We got home at 2.15 this morning. Off the boat in Normandy at midday, and all the way across a sweltering France (only 35 degrees or so, but we don't have air conditioned cars and the like).
