Re. 21556 -

Considering you don't even know what I posted regarding the subject, I'll take your post for what it's worth.

21560. arkymalarky - 4/10/2007 4:22:37 AM

Why wouldn't I know what you posted on it? I didn't just drop in here, you know. What I want to know is how Wombat was proved wrong wrt it. That part's fuzzy, I must admit.

21562. Magoseph - 4/10/2007 3:58:23 PM

Sorry, Jex, but I had to delete your post since the term you used to describe the person is not now in usage in France.

21563. judithathome - 4/10/2007 4:29:06 PM

I like a centrist 'position' that can preserve a wide range of (often opposing) political opinions in its very structure. I think such is least likely to become stale or go wrong.

I agree wholeheartedly...just don't see how this applies to you.

21564. iiibbb - 4/10/2007 4:43:09 PM

I think Imus should suffer the same as Mr. Zumbo... that is, if CBS wants him gone, then he's gone. The rantings and ravings of those that demand their respective heads don't really factor in.

I believe in freedome of speech, but I believe that the market decides if it wants to listen to you. If you work in the public world, your employer has a right to decide what your boundaries will be.

21565. jexster - 4/10/2007 4:59:06 PM

I think you're confused..I3

The rantings and ravings of the FRENCH MOB are the market ...besides it's all a big corporate market game

Watch Imus's ratings skyrocket on his return

What a sorry excuse for "civilization" we have

Imus got just about what I would have given him if I were running CNBC/CBS. Time will tell whether the big advertisers will punish him more. They could still sink his ship for good. It would be a small loss.

Speaking of apologies from Sharpton, I don't recall Jesse Jackson apologising for his "Hymietown" remark.

21571. Magoseph - 4/11/2007 12:13:29 AM

I think that Imus is too smart not to know what he has to do- -you attack strength, not weakness, if you wish to remain in the game. I also believe he’ll hold a significant percentage of his present audience, especially country music people.

21572. judithathome - 4/11/2007 12:28:49 AM

Yesterday I told Keoni about my friend Patti's husband surprising her with a 40th anniversary party. Keoni is not overly fond of Bob, Patti's husband. But I thought it was sweet that Bob sprinkled rose petals all over the sidewalk and porch of his son's house, where the party took place.

Evidently it impressed the hell out of Harley...Keoni came in this morning to wake me and said "Bob must have inspired Harley...she has covered the hallway and kitchen with dried rose petals from the ones you've saved....."

I will have my revenge...Monday morning, Harley goes in for her "altering".

21573. wonkers2 - 4/11/2007 12:53:14 AM

For those who aren't fond if Al Sharpton here's Gwen Ifill's take on Imus Iful on Imus

21574. jexster - 4/11/2007 1:16:17 AM

She's a nappy headed ho!

I don't give a shit one way or the other what Al Sharpton's take is.

jex, our fellow Louisianian, James Carville, expressed strong disapproval of what Imus said. But he's not bailing on a friend.

21578. iiibbb - 4/11/2007 3:12:00 AM

The Ghetto Mindset

What Don Imus said was wrong—but all too familiar, in a culture influenced far too heavily by the bad behaviors of the street. So says the author of “GhettoNation,” a provocative new book.
