Snow is coming down, fine and steady; expected: six to ten inches today and tonight; two more tomorrow. The lawns and fir trees are already white, but the roads are still clear.

Wonk, how is the weather in your area?

21588. jexster - 4/11/2007 3:21:33 PM

It's raining where Wonk is...rather late in the season for serious rain in SF

It's all good. He can stay indoors and watch the MSM's "Imus Clusterfcuk"...CNN's featuring Whoopi Goldberg now...every n*ppy h*ead from here to Deetroit

21589. Magoseph - 4/11/2007 3:46:29 PM

In the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, there is a longstanding dispensation allowing Catholics to consume muskrat on Ash Wednesday and the Fridays of Lent.

21592. wonkers2 - 4/11/2007 4:58:29 PM

Jex was probably raised on muskrats and roasted racoon.

21593. jexster - 4/11/2007 5:07:25 PM

WE DO NOT HAVE MUSKRATS IN LOUISIANA

We eat poule d'eau, possum, rabbit and squirrel sauce piquante as you would know if you weren't a old carpetbag of yankee scum

    Various Sauced Piquante

    1 servings
1 ea rabbit, cut into pieces
    2 tb oil
    1/4 c water
    2 tb worcestershire sauce
    2 tb flour
    1 tb oil
    4 tb tomato paste
    1/2 c water
    1/4 c onions, chopped
    3 tb bell pepper, minced
    1/4 c celery, chopped
    1 ts garlic, minced
    1/4 ts tabasco sauce

Pan-fry rabbit in oil until lightly brown. Add 1/4 C water and
Worcestershire; cover pan tightly and simmer for about 25 minutes. In a
black iron pot, brown flour in 1 Tbsp oil to make a roux. Add tomato paste
and additional water (1/2 cup), stirring thoroughly. Add onions, pepper,
celery, garlic and tabasco. Blend well and pour over simmering rabbit. Cook
over low heat about 30 minutes. If sauce thickens too much, add a small
amount of hot water. Serve with rice. Also for: Hugg's Note: Rabbit,
squirrel, Poule d'Eau, duck, beaver etc Source: LOUISIANA

    The muskrat industry in Louisiana

Nutria!

21597. jexster - 4/11/2007 5:25:47 PM

Yes as I said..an OLD carpetbag

LA Dept Wildlife and Fisheries
LOUISIANA'S FUR INDUSTRY
At one time, Louisiana was the leading producer of mink and muskrat fur pelts in North America. Fur prices have dropped in recent years, making the time and effort required for trapping less productive and less lucrative. Many coastal resource users have been forced to seek employment in the oil and gas industry and elsewhere and it is questionable whether they will ever return to trapping. During the 2001-2002 trapping season, fewer than 1,000 trapping licenses were sold statewide.

So when's the Big EIGHT OH?

    Hi jexster,

We just wanted to let you know that Ralph Deeds has just published a new Hub:

"The Wire" is the best show on TV...next to the Imus Clusterfc*k

How tiresome this is. Imus is the most watched show on MSNBC...

Why do you think that is?

And does anyone really think that Dan Abrams isn't going to pee when on his return, Imus's share jumps even higher?

Did you close your tags?

21600. jexster - 4/11/2007 10:11:00 PM

I dunno.
Did I?

21601. Magoseph - 4/12/2007 2:25:43 PM

We had only six inches of snow, no big deal for us. The trees on the path leading to the golf course were beautiful with black trunks and every branch blindly white, really a fairy-like scene.

Now that Imus the Sacrificial Old Goat is gone, I hope that his spot is replaced with a program attracting the same political guests he had. I’m an early riser and usually spend the morning hours reading the international newspapers, and communicating with family abroad by telephone or emails. If I hear someone saying something interesting on the Imus show, I move ten feet away to watch the person Live or match the picture to the caller—more often I click the remote’s pause button until I’m ready to watch and listen.

So, did I hear the bad jokes?—sometimes, I did and like everybody else never took them seriously. Now, I’m getting re-educated watching MSNBC. The whole morning seems to be about the Imus incident.

21602. wonkers2 - 4/12/2007 4:03:34 PM

The weather is great in San Francisco. Please arrange for the snow to be melted in Detroit by Monday!

21603. betty - 4/12/2007 5:50:22 PM

We didn't get any snow, it's a freakin' miracle. This small little fact almost made me happy this morning.

21604. judithathome - 4/12/2007 6:51:19 PM

Today is the most beautiful, perfect day of the year thus far...it's an uncloudy sky, very mild tmeperature, light breeze, and the pollen ffrom the past few weeks seems to be gone. All the trees are leafed out and the air feels clean.

Won't last but nice while it's here.

21605. judithathome - 4/12/2007 6:53:14 PM

I awoke this morning to rose petals strewn down the hallway and up onto my bed...sounds romantic, huh? Hardley. And remove the "d" from that last word and you will get the name of the culprit who destroyed the last of my dried roses.

21606. alistairConnor - 4/12/2007 8:40:32 PM

Ah Mago is disappointed, she only got six inches, she was expecting ten...
