Okay....email suffered failure to deliver...guess I have an old address for you.

26046. arkymalarky - 7/6/2010 6:35:58 PM

I got your email, Judith, but the entries didn't show up. Maybe they will on my pc, but I won't be able to know that until tomorrow.

Ms. No -

Try Gloria's on the Lake front mall. Good food, great view. It's at I30 and Ridge.

Juditha:

send it to bridge burner 99 at Yahoo --- but with no spaces, of course.

26050. Ms. No - 7/8/2010 4:15:34 AM

That looks beautiful, Jen!

26051. Ms. No - 7/8/2010 11:37:12 PM

Arx,

We should see you round about 6pm tomorrow evening. I'll call you from the road with an update when we're a couple hours out ---- my phone doesn't work in Tennessee so if you get a weird number, it's because I'm calling on my mother's phone.

Can't wait to see y'all!

26052. arkymalarky - 7/9/2010 12:26:30 AM

Oooooh oooooh oooooh! I'm SO excited! Can't wait to see y'all too!

26053. arkymalarky - 7/9/2010 4:59:52 AM

If anyone here has an android phone, you should download wordwise, a game like scrabble. I like it but all my peeps have iphone words with friends, which they play endlessly. I call them Pod People. Oh, and alistair, I didn't realize that android is linux-based. I like everything about it except that no one I know here has one. Some do at work.

26054. alistairConnor - 7/9/2010 2:52:06 PM

You'll see. The early adopters all have iPhones, and sneer at android. (at work, my client is having an iPhone app developed, and I suggested they should develop it for android too, and they all laughed at me!)

Probably lots of people have an android phone without realising it.

... Tethering is pretty cool eh? I need to work out how to do that with a blackberry, because my other half has one with unlimited international access, that would be nice while travelling.

26055. alistairConnor - 7/9/2010 2:54:34 PM

Tomorrow we're off on the annual bike trip. Other Half is doing the baggage train/camp follower thing. We're in an official heat wave.

I'm in reasonable shape for the cycling, but out of training in the obligatory excessive eating and drinking.

26056. arkymalarky - 7/9/2010 4:08:34 PM

I had problems tethering the bb, even after buying software to do it. This is a snap. Literally two clicks and you're there. And it's faster. With verizon I have 3g at home, tho still weak coverage, as it was with att.

26057. arkymalarky - 7/10/2010 6:42:01 PM

We just had the BEST visit with No and her mom. Her mom is great!

26058. arkymalarky - 7/11/2010 10:49:44 PM

No, that apple pie was good! I ate some with the ice cream we slap forgot to break out while y'all were here.

On another subject: where is everybody?

26059. vonKreedon - 7/12/2010 5:42:02 PM

I'm sort of here.

26060. judithathome - 7/12/2010 5:55:50 PM

I love MsNo's mom, too, and will be getting the chance to see them both tomorrow evening...they're coming over here after a day of FW museum hopping and we're going out to eat Italian food!

I'd be joining them at the museums but I have a prior committment that is "village involved"...can't get out of it.

26061. Ms. No - 7/16/2010 3:54:11 AM

Wheeee!!! Had a wonderful time with the Malarkies --- sat up 'til after 2 chatting with Arky and still didn't want to leave when we had to get on the road the next day. My mom was all for calling my red-headed step-dad and telling him to just come on out. ;->

Spent yesterday evening with the AtHomes and amazing food (of course!) and a short but gorgeous scenic drive through their end of town. Saw a beautiful little chapel --- like Frank Lloyd Wright does Gothic. Yet another evening I didn't want to end.

26062. Ms. No - 7/16/2010 3:58:09 AM

My mom was trying to explain to a couple of my aunts and cousins where we were stopping along the way on our road trip and when they heard how I know Arky --- through the internet --- they were like "Internet people? Really? Isn't that weird?"

And my mom chimed right in "I know! When she first told me about it years ago I though it was strange, but I've met quite a few of them now and they have all been just charming, lovely people."

Having now spent some quality time with the Malarkys her opinion is set in stone.

Who're the best people? Mote people! My mom says so!!

26063. vonKreedon - 7/16/2010 4:00:45 PM

Haha...yaya Mom, who is also obviously one of the best people, so why isn't she on the Mote? Or would that be a degree too close for comfort? Gah, I hope my Mom never finds this place, gack gack....

26064. Ms. No - 7/16/2010 6:37:12 PM

I invited her once, years ago, but she didn't hang and I don't think she ever even signed up. It's just not her thing, you know?

And yes, I'm very thankful for that!
