26176. RickNelson - 11/18/2010 12:30:10 AM It's good to read. I'm considering writing in poetry, maybe this week? Could be a bit later, but I'll read your thoughts first. 26177. RickNelson - 11/18/2010 12:35:45 AM At present I use library internet.
The elections were a dissapointment, except here for my district results. I'm a die-hard Dem.
I popped in on the Ace-of-Spades site once a while back. He's as ever.
Anyone recall boohab? Checked in on him a while back too. He's interesting as ever.
I never figured out who James Wright is?
I saw NuPlanetOne out in the posting-sphere, he's as awsome as ever.
I read a poem at a coffe shop two months ago, the first ever. I liked it.
My son is 6+. Still married. Ailments still abuse me.
Best regards Moties.
Rick 26178. arkymalarky - 11/18/2010 3:43:32 AM RICK!!!
So great to hear from you! Please please please post in Poetry!! Thank you for catching us up on the Moties. Hard to believe your son is six! 26179. vonKreedon - 11/18/2010 5:24:11 PM Not only is it hard to believe that your son is six, but that he's still married! [;-} 26180. arkymalarky - 11/18/2010 8:22:26 PM Haha! 26181. judithathome - 11/19/2010 12:25:01 AM Rick, what ailments? Glad to see you posting!
I've been dabbling in some poetry...it's very "person" specific and well-received but then, why wouldn't it be? I figure any poetry aimed at a specific person is going to be appreciated, whether it's good or not...ha! 26182. RickNelson - 11/19/2010 8:09:47 PM Hi arky, judith and vonKreedon.
I've been working on a poem. I'll save it to disk and bring it to the library. Might be doing that tomorrow.
Six is an awsome age, small and smart. A combination for discovery and experiences. He's reading all the time, but still loves internet games, video games, and The Wiggles. I mention the Wiggles because he's liked them for over two years. What a group of nuts. I can dig it.
He started Kung Fu this fall. He's showing remarkable progress. I set up a punching bag in the basement. I bought it about a decade ago for my daughter, but she never used it. Now it'll get a second wind. I think he'll pass the beginner level easily, and the white belt doesn't seem too much. There's white belt in the class Jacob knows.
Judith, I've been humbled by the all mighty existence of the infection. (see health) 26183. wabbit - 11/25/2010 6:30:11 PM Hello all, and Happy Thanksgiving! 26184. Ms. No - 11/26/2010 5:29:01 AM On this day, I am thankful for many things, not least of which all of my long time friends here.
Happiest of Thanksgivings to you all! 26185. arkymalarky - 11/26/2010 8:51:34 AM Happy Thanksgiving everybody! 26186. iiibbb - 12/3/2010 1:53:23 AM So... let's sum up the year
Baby born
Baby loses alarming weight
Wife's milk almost goes
MiL falls down the stairs and almost dies
FiL with dementia get's worse from stress
BiL is useless
Wife saves milk after 3 months of intense effort on both of our parts
Wife's boss is a nutjob and seems to hold maternity leave against wife... it's like an abusive releationship
I still haven't found work
House didn't sell... but finally did sell
Series of ear infections in boy
ENT doctor wants to put in tubes but the boy is a borderline case and surgery is scheduled next week so not much time to consult with our pediatrician
Wife finds 3 lumps in breast a couple of weeks ago... scans inconclusive... now needs a biopsy... (at least caught early if it is anything).
I will be glad to see this year gone. 26187. wabbit - 12/3/2010 2:41:00 AM Oh boy, iiibbb, I don't blame you. I hope both your wife and son get positive diagnoses and prognoses, and that both will be fine. 26188. wabbit - 12/3/2010 2:43:07 AM sheesh, by positive I didn't mean 'positive' in the bad way, I mean that they get good news, I hope you understood that. No cancer for your wife, no surgery for your son, and that they will both be fine. Sorry. 26189. iiibbb - 12/3/2010 3:04:46 AM Right now we are leaning against surgery for the boy unless our pediatrician really makes a case for it.
The specialist did a poor job justifying it, and when we looked up the clinical threshold he was only considering one of the 4 markers... 3 infections before 1 yr old. B's hearing is fine, he's had colds w/out infection, and has no record of long-term fluid behind the ears. So he's barely a candidate.
What's the rush?
While I respect the profession, there are MD's I don't because medical school is a trade school as much as anything... they don't really grasp "risk" particularly well in my experience. I love research physicians... we've had such good experience with them.
Worried about my wife... she found them over Thanksgiving and just got into the Dr. today... at least we caught it early if it is anything.
I should be careful not to discount the blessings of the past year. 26190. iiibbb - 12/3/2010 3:08:22 AM Saved milk
MiL will make a full recovery
We have the best baby in the whole wide world 26191. arkymalarky - 12/3/2010 3:30:24 AM Best thoughts for you and your wife and son, 3I. Please keep us posted. 26192. arkymalarky - 12/3/2010 3:30:27 AM Best thoughts for you and your wife and son, 3I. Please keep us posted. 26193. thoughtful - 12/3/2010 6:53:57 PM wow what a full plate...i hope all turns out well.
BTW there have been studies done showing chewing gum with xylitol will reduce ear infections in children...of course it is a sugar alcohol so can lead to loose stools if over used, but you might want to check into it...
vitacost.com or globalsweet.com sells it. 26194. seadate - 12/5/2010 11:36:50 AM Hello all! Havent been by in some time. 26195. judithathome - 12/5/2010 7:29:45 PM SEADATE!!!
