I am a creature of habit. I wouldn't be able to figure out a new website... and not sure I'd want to.

I'm amazed anyone is still here enough to keep a conversation going, but it's just my speed at present because I'm busy busy busy busy.

27212. Jenerator - 2/27/2013 10:31:05 PM

I'm doing well. The principal left this past year and the school is beginning to thaw! This is the first year in a long while that I have had fun!

Faith is seven, can you believe it?!

27213. Jenerator - 2/27/2013 10:31:34 PM

iiibbb,

I know what you mean. Just when I get used to something, it seems to change.

27214. iiibbb - 2/27/2013 10:49:18 PM

Bah..

bad news...

... the job my wife was all lined up for here in town just fell through. She is bummed. I wish she'd had some other irons in the fire until we had something on paper, but it was supposed to have been a done deal. What was not counted on was the loss of their #1 client.

She had several other leads. Hopefully it won't be too much to reengage them.

27215. Jenerator - 2/27/2013 11:27:30 PM

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

27216. arkymalarky - 2/28/2013 1:08:56 AM

Ooooh, that sucks. Hope she gets something ASAP.

I'm with 3i. This is just my speed. I don't know how I had the time to post like I used to. I have other interests tho now that I didn't have back then.

Seven! Mose is 28. Seems a blink ago Diva and I were talking about our little Tweens.

Thanks to Arky and Alistair for the book suggestions. Our local Barnes & Noble had both Sunrise Over Fallujah and Little Brother. They look interesting. Maybe the kid will have to wait awhile and perhaps I can absorb a bit of youthful vernacular.

Contented. That's how I feel. I'm the most contented I've ever been, now that I've retired and moved back home in our new house. I am contented and grateful for the blessings I enjoy.

For awhile I was fearful...knowing how wonderful this was and knowing that at some point things will get worse for health or other reasons...but I've let go of the fear, knowing that it will taint my enjoyment of this time. When the change comes, I know I will be strong enough, as this time of contentment is building the strength in me I will need to survive any future challenges.

Good for you thoughtful! That's really a wonderful feeling!

I tell my students that I'm the happiest I've ever been, and it's really true, Despite some rough transitions lately. I think it gets better as you Age and you start to see where you are and realize what a great spot You're in, whatever the past was and whatever the future holds. Living in the moment is harder than it looks, But it certainly the best way to live if you can do it. I've been one who can't a lot of the time, But I've also learned The hard way not to fight the feelings you have, but to deal with them; but for some reason I'm able to Live in the moment right now.

On a more trivial subject, we're on our way to take two big ass dogs to the vet. Oh joy!

27221. judithathome - 3/1/2013 8:26:02 PM

I'm in a pretty good place in my life right now but really, I've been that way for 30+ years.

27222. arkymalarky - 3/1/2013 9:07:35 PM

You always amaze me Judith, and I totally mean that. You're one of the most grounded people I've ever met.

27223. judithathome - 3/1/2013 11:08:56 PM

Wow...thanks!

27224. PsychProf - 3/2/2013 2:12:46 PM

Thoughtful, Judith, and Arky...great posts

27225. thoughtful - 3/8/2013 5:49:51 PM

Like the British Beefeaters in their high hats, standing tall, unmoving, at their post, so to speak. And yet it snows.

T'ful's deck is so much nicer than mine, I love the glass!

No yardstick, so I used a 12" paper towel tube. Didn't get it quite down to the deck, but close enough. I had about 18" when it finally stopped snowing late afternoon. It's gorgeous today, bright blue sky, breezy, low 40's.

27227. Jenerator - 3/21/2013 11:17:10 PM

Very pretty!

27228. lemwalker - 3/25/2013 3:23:04 PM

Was driving back from Northern California. Took a side trip from Oregon coast to Roseburg and I5. Stopped at large turnout to enjoy scenery. Nice river running over boulders. And there along the slope leading down to the river, someone had thrown a box of National Geographic magazines. Who'd of thunk it?

27229. arkymalarky - 3/25/2013 4:19:57 PM

Lem!!!!!!!

27230. Ms. No - 3/25/2013 9:14:54 PM

oh, the irony!
