Happy Easter!

I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Snodgrass. I was just thinking of him yesterday.

The event of the year in our neck of the woods.

27928. lemwalker - 4/25/2014 2:17:23 PM

Hope Irv does get better. Remember well the visit to Microsoft. Stayed at his folks place. And mostly when he visited here for rural golfing. Have not heard of him in awhile. But everyone die or moves away.

Hey Lem!

27930. arkymalarky - 4/27/2014 6:22:41 PM

Judith, you bracing for weather?

27931. judithathome - 4/27/2014 7:50:23 PM

Yes...and nothing happened, not even a breeze or a cloud in the sky.

They really ramped up the anxiety here...doing stories on which companies do the best work on storm shelters, etc. Of course, given where we live, that's a good thing and it's good to let people know that bad weather might be coming...however, I was so disturbed by the predictions, I was afraid for Keoni to leave the house and wanted our friend who is in the hospital to stay there extra days, just in case...

What worries me about all this hysteria pre-storm is that next time, people will ignore the warnings.

27932. arkymalarky - 4/27/2014 8:02:20 PM

They're saying it's supposed to hit here after dark. It seems to be tracking north of us and the temp clash isn't happening.

27933. judithathome - 4/27/2014 9:42:38 PM

Hope it stays that course!

27934. arkymalarky - 4/28/2014 8:44:46 AM

It has avoided us until now. It is still just slightly east of us, but man it's going to be bad in the places that already got hit. Eleven killed in AR.

27935. wabbit - 4/28/2014 8:36:47 PM

Howdy Lem! That was a fun trip, wasn't it?

Arky, is the weather staying away from your neck of the AR woods? Saw that LR area got hit. Is everyone ok?

27936. arkymalarky - 4/28/2014 9:21:08 PM

yeah, we woke up at 2:30 in the morning with our weather radio going off, but it was just a thunderstorm. East of us is what really got hit. About 5 miles east of Stan's brother's house is where it started. everyone we know is okay, but in such a small state a lot of people know a lot of people who live in those areas. Kids were talking about it today.

Stunning AP photo and article out of Arkansas. Sorry I can't link.

Hey Robert! How's everything?
Tech has gotten so good it's pretty easy to go to a site without a hyperlink. Thanks for the story. I've been too tired and busy today to read up on everything. Went to sleep at one awake at 2:30 back asleep at 4 up at 6:20. I'm too pooped to peep.

27939. robertjayb - 4/30/2014 4:44:22 AM

Doing well, thanks, Arky. Feeling better and more energetic than I have in years. Quite a few doctor visits but nothing that I'm particularly concerned about. Getting injections for back pain that seem to be working and cataract implants are great. I can ditch the glasses. Had my fourth (count 'em, four) colonoscopy last week. Dr. Ragu must know my backside well by now. Typical geezer stuff I guess. Did you ever have the septoplasty? I was out of service there for awhile and did't hear.

After following you and other moties and your Fit experiences I got spouse a Fitone at Christmas. I made sure others were around lest she throw it at me but she took to the program with zeal Perhaps too much so. Lots of chard, kale, and other greens on our table. But she is proud of her shrinking waistline and dragging out scarcely worn clothes. A good thing. Thanks for the inspiration.

The weight loss and a new grandchild, our first, have her over the moon. The son's tear down and rebuild project is finally headed to completion, maybe by July he says. I doubt it. Seems like a long time ago I passed on to him tips from Thoughtful. What a task.

Somewhat more exciting news is that the folks next door to the Wisconsin place turnout to have been running a pretty impressive heroin operation. Several arrests. We're hoping for a breakthrough on the year-old breakin and burglary burglary that cost us a nice flatscreen.

Smalltown life is quiet but not boring.

My sympathies go out to you!

I'm having problems in that "area" myself and it's no fun.

That's great about the fitbit Robert! And congrats on the grandbaby! I don't dare eat food like that until I retire. ;)

We had a meth cook up the road from us for a few years and it was really scary. I imagine it will be a lot more secure now.

I think I'm about to have to join AA
