Ads could be in Swahili for all I know. 28260. arkymalarky - 10/9/2014 6:16:07 PM Yeah, mose does that, but I'm too impatient. If the show is on I want to see right then. 28262. arkymalarky - 10/9/2014 7:12:44 PM I usually pause and skip or hit the channel button, but I have to see to know what I don't like and otherwise I pretty much ignore. 28263. arkymalarky - 10/9/2014 7:12:48 PM I usually pause and skip or hit the channel button, but I have to see to know what I don't like and otherwise I pretty much ignore. 28265. judithathome - 10/9/2014 8:38:53 PM The Viagra ad is especially egregious. That chick is deliberately flaunting, if not her accent, her very "sexiness" to temp this poor "victim" of a natural aging process and allegedly giving him hope that, though he could never do so when a hard-on was a sure thing, he can NOW have a hot chick with a British accent jump into bed with him because he can maintain a 5 hour erection.
It's no different than showing young sexy hot chicks in before and after ads for Nutri-System, Weight Watchers, and myriad anti-fat pills displaying their new sexy bodies that were attained with little or no effort...and the pathetic face-lift ladies who are trying to defy nature with attempts to look "younger" than they actually are.
And I won't even address the "vagina rejuvenation" purveyors...
28266. judithathome - 10/9/2014 8:40:48 PM I skip ads but I also watch some of them because I am fascinated by the "art" of advertising and how it can sway opinion and purchasing power...AND political power. 28267. Ms. No - 10/10/2014 12:58:23 AM I know a great process for vaginal rejuvenation: put a better dick in it. 28268. judithathome - 10/10/2014 4:05:04 PM ....and THAT post would rate TEN, MsNo...huzzahs! 28269. robertjayb - 10/13/2014 5:25:15 PM Are you ladies members of the Badass Teachers Association? 28270. Ms. No - 10/14/2014 10:03:13 PM Nah, I'm not feeling very badass lately. Bitchy? Yes. Badass? No. 28271. iiibbb - 10/15/2014 1:25:47 AM I made a concoction today that I'm going to call this Carribexuban Chicken. Didn't take too long to make 30-40 minutes maybe not including the previous night's prep (marinating the chicken).
PREP
Marinate 4 chicken breasts overnight in,
Juice of 2 oranges
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tbl cumin
3-4 cloves garlic
2-3 tbls soy sauce
Prep the Fried Rice
2-3 cups cooked brown rice
1/2 diced onion
1 diced zucchini
3 clove garlic
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
Prep the Sauce
whisk together
5 tbls fresh squeezed orange or clementine juice
Zest of 1 lime
Juice of 1 lime
2 tbl olive oil
1 tbl agave nectar or honey
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp chili powder (I like Mexine)
COOKING
Preheat oven to 375
(1) In small saucepan put whisked mixture on low-medium heat. Reduce by 1/2 or 2/3. Whisk in 3-4 pats of butter at end.
(2) Brown chicken breasts 3 minutes per side in oven safe fry pan
Top with some chopped cilantro and place in oven for 10-15 minutes depending on mass of breasts (180F internal temp or clear juices)
(3) While chicken bakes, sauté onions and garlic until they soften. Add rice, zucchini, cilantro and fry until done. Keep warm.
PLATING
Bed of fried rice. Chicken. Drizzle on sauce. Top with 1/2 diced avacado and equal part diced mango. 28272. iiibbb - 10/15/2014 2:02:08 AM I can see this done with pork loin too. 28273. arkymalarky - 10/15/2014 2:24:47 AM sounds very yum. 28275. arkymalarky - 10/15/2014 2:28:22 AM badass teachers? bats? yes, I am bats.

Its been done. 28277. arkymalarky - 10/15/2014 5:58:58 AM haha! great site! 28279. wabbit - 11/1/2014 3:35:52 PM There was a time when I lived 100 yards down a driveway through the woods off a dirt road. I didn't expect trick-or-treaters there. But now I have a townhouse in a 162 unit complex and last night I saw seven trick-or-treaters. Five of the six girls were in a group, one was with her parents, and the only boy was one I literally chased across the street to give him some candy. The two women he was with didn't bother coming across the street to try me or my neighbor.
I'll donate all this candy, since I won't eat it, but I'm wondering if some of the parents here can explain what happened to Halloween? The first year I must have had 100 kids. This year, seven. Do kids (or their parents) prefer to go to organized parties these days? 28280. arkymalarky - 11/1/2014 5:19:41 PM Wabbit!! I was thinking about you yesterday, wondering how you were doing. In the 31 years we've lived here Stan and I have never had a single trick-or-treater. my kids still go some, according to what they told me yesterday, and I got a the impression the younger ones still do, but there are lots of school and church and other Halloween parties around here.
28282. arkymalarky - 11/1/2014 5:25:43 PM just called Mose thinking she'd say "a lot" since they live in a really nice family neighborhood in Fayetteville, and she said she didn't get a single kid. she's an elementary school librarian and she said lots of kids now do "trunk" parties where they go to one place and get all their candy. what a rip for everyone else who loves to see the kids all dressed up! it's been one downside of living here. 28284. arkymalarky - 11/1/2014 5:27:54 PM mom and dad in their new easy to access house in a very kid oriented area didn't get a single kid either.
