Hunter Mountain ski area, last Friday, near closing time. The run on the left wasn't open yet (and it's a steep mother); the cuts on the rights are lift lines. I like the sky, with sun through snowmaking. 3397. Ronski - 12/2/2005 3:05:39 AM
Saugerties, New York, last Friday afternoon. 3398. thoughtful - 12/2/2005 3:46:02 PM Nice shots ronski. 3399. judithathome - 12/2/2005 11:32:33 PM Very nice shots, I agree! 3400. PelleNilsson - 12/6/2005 2:50:46 PM Yes, nice Ronski.
The hoped-for skiing during the weekend failed to materialize. The weather turned mild, the promised snow turned into rain. It is raining now, too. A cold, thoroughly unpleasant drizzle. Be glad you are not here. 3401. thoughtful - 12/8/2005 6:19:11 PM Haven't nailed down the details yet, but this year's xmas table will be winter-inspired. Ice blue table cloth, all white china, clear crystal glassware, white candles, silver flatware and candlesticks. I have a dinner party planned in january as well so it will do double duty. 3402. judithathome - 12/8/2005 9:35:47 PM Sounds wonderful, Thoughtful!
I just baked a French Vanilla cake and the layers have raspberry preserves between them and I'm waiting to frost it with dark chocolate icing. It's a surprise for Keoni for the anniversary of the day we met. Pearl Harbor day! The surprise is because that was yesterday.... 3403. PelleNilsson - 12/8/2005 10:29:31 PM The white paper flowers seem to have reached their apogee so I thought I would document them.
3404. judithathome - 12/8/2005 11:27:22 PM That's a lovely picture...the fading paper whites pick up the color in the straw ornament. 3405. thoughtful - 12/8/2005 11:38:30 PM Cake sounds yummy, juds.
Shot is terrific pelle...love the colors and the balance 3406. thoughtful - 12/9/2005 2:59:55 PM We're getting snow today...supposed to be a fast one coming through but dumping 4-8" in a matter of a few hours. Welcome winter. What ever happened to fall? 3407. wabbit - 12/9/2005 3:25:32 PM t'ful, it started snowing here about an hour ago. Yesterday the forecast was for up to 12", but now it's down to only 3". 3408. thoughtful - 12/9/2005 3:43:35 PM wabbit, when are you heading into hospital? I hope all is well. I'm concerned for you. 3409. wabbit - 12/9/2005 3:54:06 PM Thank you, t'ful. I'm having a total knee replacement done. Surgery is scheduled for 7:30am Monday. The doctors big concern with me is infection, because of the immune suppressant drugs I take, but I refuse to get an infection, so that's that. I expect to be just fine (in about a month). 3410. thoughtful - 12/9/2005 4:02:12 PM Well, my fingers, toes, eyes and knees are crossed for you that all will go well. Best way to avoid infection is to try and get out of the hospital as soon as possible...they're full of sick people!
3411. Macnas - 12/9/2005 4:08:07 PM Aren't they just? My daughter is just out, pneumonia in the left lung. 3412. wabbit - 12/9/2005 4:40:40 PM Thanks to Blue Cross, I should be out in about 5-6 days - they won't pay for in-hospital rehab, even though that's what should be done. No biggie to me, they'll send a nurse and a PT to the house every day for a few weeks, then less often once they see my rapid recovery. :)
Macnas, I hope your daughter is doing well, pneumonia is nasty. 3413. Macnas - 12/9/2005 5:36:08 PM She's doing fine so far wabbit, thanks.
There is a chest infection type bug which is tearing through the young population at the moment, hospital childrens wards full of coughing kids. 3414. Magoseph - 12/9/2005 5:49:43 PM I'm so glad your daughter is doing fine, Mac--lots of rhyming for you to do every night. 3415. wonkers2 - 12/9/2005 5:55:37 PM Take care, wabbit and macnas, knee replacements and pneumonia are nothing to fool around with.
