I have spent the better part of my 65 years in the Lansing, Mi area. I've been acquainted with literally hundreds of GM employees from top management down to maintenance workers. 75% of them have misused and abused their priveleges as GM employees. From setting in local bars, drinking on the job, playing golf when they should have been working and on & on & on......!!!! Most of these "workers" are a big part of the reason for GM's downfall. Several of the worst offenders that I know personally recently received a buyout in the multi thousands of dollars and the last three or four years of their employment was spent in several local bars in the lansing area. A couple of them were "supervisors" and bragged about playing instead of working. I say the hell with a BAILOUT!! Some of us who have had enough conscience to earn an income should not be required to give up our retirement to the lazy conniving of others.

David Axelrod, Senior Advisor to the President
David Axelrod served as President-elect Obama's Chief Strategist during the presidential campaign, and led Obama's 2004 Senate campaign. A native of New York City, Axelrod graduated from the University of Chicago and spent eight years as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, where he covered national, state and local politics and became the youngest political writer and columnist in the paper's history. Leaving journalism in 1984, Axelrod managed Paul Simon's upset victory over incumbent U.S. Senator Charles Percy of Illinois. In 1985, he founded Axelrod & Associates, a political consulting firm known today as AKP&D Message and Media. Axelrod has worked for leading Democrats across the country, including Senators Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, and Herb Kohl, as well as Governor Tom Vilsack of Iowa, Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts, Congressman Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, and Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago, along with mayors of big cities across the country.
