40540. wonkers2 - 11/24/2008 8:25:55 PM No man or company is an island, entire of itself--any company's death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee, Jexter. The key--Big Three's troubles may touch financial sector 40541. wonkers2 - 11/24/2008 8:27:44 PM For the Big Three, Chapter 11 would be the final chapter 40542. wonkers2 - 11/24/2008 8:29:34 PM Some encouraging words from Bill Kristol Why not admit we don't know what the fuck we're doing? 40543. jexster - 11/24/2008 8:31:48 PM Obama's getting it...Wonkers and his crowd are a bunch o bozos!

Baseball been berry berry good to somebody
What makes Citi's sponsorship of the new stadium even more absurd is that although the Mets paid for a decent amount of the construction, a lot was subsidized as per this article in the Times.
The tax payers give money to Citi to get naming rights to a stadium that the tax payers partially built so the Mets can raise ticket prices to a level that your average New Yorker cannot afford. But hey, the Citi execs will still have their luxury boxes!!!
As Wonkers would say we've been JEWED40544. thoughtful - 11/24/2008 8:33:29 PM no, they weren't all hacks...some had brains but were wacko...y'know like the ones who thought iraqis would greet us with flowers or that torture and indefinite imprisonment makes for good government. 40545. jexster - 11/24/2008 8:33:45 PM Chapter 11 is the only way to clean out the bums in that business.
It is perfectly do-able. The government can make whatever payments and guarantees it cares to make under the clear light of a bankruptcy court
We get rid of the Wonkers and we get somethign for our money
The Bankruptcy scare is another total RED HERRING designed by a bunch of incompetent bank robbers 40546. jexster - 11/24/2008 8:35:38 PM These articles are piffle, propaganda from the very assholes who'd get their just desserts in a bankruptcy court 40547. jexster - 11/24/2008 8:42:05 PM Give the man a break t'fill...Bushie couldn't keep up with the wackadoo brainiacs...
I bet you make fun of the baggers at the local grocery store
Laugh at GM auto executives walking about without their crash helmets
Sheesh 40548. jexster - 11/24/2008 8:44:06 PM Bush can't help it and neither the Grosse Pointe goofs who are about 28 steps behind their counterparts from Darien 40549. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 11/24/2008 8:49:28 PM President-Elect Obama Unveils His Economic Team
40550. jexster - 11/24/2008 8:50:52 PM Bush has committed to 7.8 TRILLION in bailing out his Wall St. pals..our budget deficit this fiscal year ..on the way to TWO TRILLION
We're being nickeled, dimed and shekeled to death 40551. jexster - 11/24/2008 8:51:55 PM Wonkers doesn't get it...I want ALL the yachts to sink..those on Lake St. Clair, those on Long Island Sound 40552. wonkers2 - 11/24/2008 9:03:56 PM Jex, apparently you didn't actually read the articles that you call piffle. Auto bankruptcies will sink the Wall Street banks and hedge funds. Therefore, the auto companies will get all the help they need. 40553. jexster - 11/24/2008 9:12:48 PM I read them yesterday, last night within minutes of posting. Unlike you I do not speak on matters I know nothing about
I am not a GM alum.
My point still holds. In bankruptcy reorganization the court and the government and the creditors have MAX leeway..they can do what they want and what is best
Right now Detroit is asking us to save their incompetent management and buy a pig in a poke 40554. jexster - 11/24/2008 9:16:48 PM Bush won't bail them out via TARP and Congreff????
Only if they can hide the salami under something a bit more substantial than "we have to help Wall ST. and Main St." rhetoric
Such arrogance these assholes flying in on their private jets blustering threats and not providing so much as a wham bam thank you mam back of the envelope piece of shit business plan!
You think the Congress is going to approve 20 billion for these jacklegs???
Their constituents would hang them
Deetroit and its Beltway elite lackeys have a total blindspot when it comes to the building public fury over the Oligarchs Bailouts 40555. jexster - 11/24/2008 9:17:43 PM Too many americans have the mark of excellence burned into their backsides 40556. jexster - 11/24/2008 9:21:14 PM Austan Goolsbee CNN-
"The fact that these executives flew to Washington on their private jets without so much as a business plan is appaling. If they expect Congress to provide bridge financing, it cannot be a bridge to nowhere"
Wonkers and his gang of incompetents think we all just fell off the turnip truck
40557. jexster - 11/24/2008 9:22:55 PM Before I fired their CEO's, their QC and design groups and their IR dept, I'd can their government relations crew
Chapter 11 ..either defacto or dejure 40558. jexster - 11/24/2008 9:24:09 PM Maybe Wonkers should spend more time on the writings of Henry Ford Sr 40559. wonkers2 - 11/24/2008 9:33:12 PM Yes, I think Congress will approve $20 billion and possibly more. The auto companies will accept constraints on exec. pay and company planes, and the UAW will agree to deep six the infamous Jobs Bank agreement which was the dumbest agreement in the history of collective bargaining.
