Yes, Cantor is bad news.

WRT DeMint, Juanita Jean posts that the head of the Heritage Foundation makes more than a million a year.

Could this be true?

45501. Wombat - 12/6/2012 10:40:39 PM

I'm sure it is. Heritage Foundation is a wingnut welfare sinecure.

45502. concerned - 12/7/2012 1:38:08 AM

Your hypocrisy is showing. You have no problems with Lefty heads of foundations making ten times as much.

Gallup's unadjusted unemployment for November shows an uptick of nearly a full point, to 8.3%, over October's number.

The Gallup article, unsurprisingly, says that such a large increase is 'unexpected'. Actually, this increase is 'unexpected' only to those who are 0bama bootlickers. Wombat can tell you that 0bama's boots taste like his own ass.

Of course, 0bama will deny all responsibility. He'll point the finger of blame at the administration that has been in power for the last four years, where 0bama is president. That should make perfect sense to Lefty idiots.

45504. concerned - 12/7/2012 2:00:09 AM

You Lefties will claim that Socialism has done great things for the world, never mind the 150,000,000 excess deaths resulting from it during the 20th Century.

For instance, Socialists are proud of the fact that they made the trains run on time. In fact, the trains to Auschwitz have a perfect record here.

It's been reported in a Washington Post blog that George Zimmerman is suing NBC over their reporting of the Trayvon Martin incident.

excerpt:

Lawyers for George Zimmerman filed suit today against NBC Universal Media over a well-publicized editing error that portrayed their client in racist terms in his pursuit of Trayvon Martin on a drizzly evening in February.

“NBC saw the death of Trayvon Martin not as a tragedy but as an opportunity to increase ratings, and so to set about the myth that George Zimmerman was a racist and predatory villain,” states the civil complaint in its opening salvo against NBC.

NBC’s editing of the 911 audiotape in the Martin case became a public fixation after the media-monitoring Web site NewsBusters.org noted editing oddities on a “Today” show broadcast March 27. Here’s how NBC News portrayed the audiotape:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.

The full tape went like this:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.

Zimmerman thus didn’t volunteer a racial profile of Martin; he was asked to provide it, a point that the lawsuit makes in colorful fashion: “NBC created this false and defamatory misimpression using the oldest form of yellow journalism: manipulating Zimmerman’s own words, splicing together disparate parts of the recording to create illusions of statements that Zimmerman never actually made.”

The suit against NBC alleges four other instances in which NBC-produced shows aired false and defamatory versions of the same events. Zimmerman faces a second-degree murder charge in the case.

The botched edits, charges the suit, were far from innocent mistakes: “Defendants pounced on the Zimmerman/Martin matter because they knew this tragedy could be, with proper sensationalizing and manipulation, a racial powderkeg that would result in months, if not years, of topics for their failing news programs, particularly the plummeting ratings for their ailing “Today Show” as well as for the individual defendants to “make their mark” for reporting a [manipulated] story such as this.” Individual defendants are Lilia Luciano and Jeff Burnside, NBC employees involved in early cases of Zimmerman mis-editing.

No apologies have been forthcoming to Zimmerman from the wrongdoers, including Spike Lee and the NBPP who have been encouraging vigilante action against Zimmerman.

Justice demands that Zimmerman receive a large multimillion dollar settlement from NBC that will allow him to come out of hiding and live securely for the rest of his life.

0bama puts one in mind of a movie parody of a wife from hell: never wrong and never responsible for anything.

Question for Mote Lefties: if 0bama is doing a worthwhile job, how come the US is on the edge of a 'fiscal cliff' after four years of recovery?

Justice demands Zimmerman is heading for the pen. Continuing to defend a murderer, eh?.

Concerned puts one in mind of a baby standing in a crib and whirling his poo-filled diaper around.

45513. Wombat - 12/7/2012 3:11:15 AM

Or of a chimp in the zoo throwing his feces at people. I suggest, you decide.

45514. Wombat - 12/7/2012 3:25:41 AM

I suspect that Zimmerman will get off. Much as I would to see him and his Larry Lawman wannabe act put away.

45515. iiibbb - 12/7/2012 6:21:34 AM

I agree that Zimmerman wasn't racially motivated in his actions, and it's a mistake to turn any part concerning him into a racial issue (although I think the lack of initiative by the police department was likely racially de-motivated).

However, the Zimmerman shoot was a bad shoot. It should not be defended by any serious pro-gun, pro-stand-your-ground advocate. He made more mistakes than I can objectively accept. I think it is a detriment to issues that I support that others are trying to legitimize his actions because it undermines my credibility if I ever had to defend myself.

45516. arkymalarky - 12/7/2012 5:10:56 PM

He also lied and spent money donated to him for legal expenses. Scum.

Gallup's unadjusted unemployment for November shows an uptick of nearly a full point, to 8.3%, over October's number.

Well, gee...I wonder how that could have happened...maybe a little thing called Super Storm Sandy? Ya think people losing the place where their jobs used to be might have a little something to do with that disgraceful uptick?

45518. judithathome - 12/7/2012 6:54:02 PM

45507, 45508, 45509, 45510, and 45512

We know you're misogynistic but this is a bit much.

45519. robertjayb - 12/7/2012 8:03:57 PM

I agree with Wombat and iiibbb. As much as I dislike hobby cops and wannabe avengers, I believe that Zimmerman, who seems a doofus, is being badly treated by media and prosecutors. He was immediately set upon by these forces and by professional blacks, including the odious Al Sharpton. The motivation, beyond self-promotion, seems to be to create a new Emmett Till case and thus another eternal victim.

Was it a bad shoot? Certainly a tragedy. But no one knows what happened except that Martin is dead and Zimmerman faces a lot of unknown unknowns.

The color version of contemporary police photos, just released, supports the claim of scuffle of some sort.

If transcripts of Zimmerman's phone conversation with police (I'm assuming a 911 dispatcher), and of an NBC news broadcast are accurate, then I believe Zimmerman has a slam dunk case in his suit against the network.

I'll try to find and post the transcripts. Shorthand, they indicate Zimmerman did not initially identify his suspect as black. He was asked if the fellow was white, black or hispanic. NBC edited his statement to enhance a racist angle (and ratings).

"Stand your ground" is an unfortunate label for a self defense principle I favor. You shouldn't have to take a beating or tolerate a home intrusion. But I think the label introduces a macho, cowboy tone that may prompt some too tightly wound folks to unwarranted action.
