Tomorrow's big headline: Obama Should Be Impeached For White House Security Goof...Never Before Has Anything So Egregious Happened In A Republican Administration!

45743. Ms. No - 5/26/2014 11:34:54 PM

Uh...Valerie Plame, anyone?

45744. judithathome - 5/26/2014 11:50:33 PM

Shinseki Resigns; David Sloan Takes Over

I doubt anyone could have "righted" the wrongs ingrained in the VA...this didn't start with Shinseki and Obama and I doubt it will end with the new guy or a new President, either. Definitely a situation when SNAFU applies.

I tried posting the above post and this one in Politics but the site won't allow it...I have re=logged in several times now and am just going to post it where I can:

Breaking News!!

One more:

This is a good article from someone who usually leans toward the right more than the left: The Problem With The VA? Congress

...Politically, this critique of the VA is a no-brainer. After all, denying, delaying or incompetently delivering benefits to veterans who are entitled to them and have sacrificed so much for us is grotesque: the moral equivalent of kicking dogs and stealing food from children. But this political consensus and opportunity for reform will all be for naught unless it targets the main cause of the VA’s problems: Congress. Attacks on the VA’s derelictions are easy and justified, but here, as in so many areas of policy, the seeds of failure are planted on Capitol Hill....

This week in Texas, the Republicans had a state party convention...they denied the Log Cabin Republicans a booth at the hall. The Log Cabin Republicans are the GAY wing of the Republican party. You might think that is an oxymoron...and you might be correct in that assumption. But the gays who support the Texas Republican Party think they are real but I don't see how they can continue to lend support to a party that thinks like this:

Because....they also added a "plank" to their "manifesto": that they fully support the "reparative therapy to heal gays" from their unfortunate illness. Yep...it's right there...official position.

There are some really RICH gay Republicans in Texas...and were I one of them, I'd be extremely insulted that a political party is willing to take my money but unwilling to include me in their convention to say nothing of the fact they think I need to be CURED of something that is not an illness.

I'd take my money back and say "F U....and DON'T enjoy it!"

Caught a clip on NPR this morning about Perry trying to extort the DA into resigning by vetoing the budget for the integrity commission or some such.

It wouldn't look so suspicious if Texas went after ALL politicians and public officials who get stopped for DUIs.

Wow. Frankenstein was just devoured by his monster.

45751. Wombat - 6/11/2014 1:27:16 AM

Eric Cantor? (Hee Hee.)

45752. iiibbb - 6/11/2014 1:32:08 AM

Agree.. too bad he's not a Senator... but whatever. Va is purple... GOP will be losing that state.

45753. robertjayb - 6/11/2014 1:35:04 AM

Go! Go! Tea Baggers...

45754. arkymalarky - 6/11/2014 1:35:50 AM

Haha!

45755. iiibbb - 6/11/2014 3:36:41 PM

I saw a post on facebook where someone suggested that Republican gerrymandering is backfiring on them.

45756. judithathome - 6/11/2014 6:14:22 PM

I nearly fainted...the look on his wife's face was priceless...complete and total disbelief.

Maria Teresa Kumar, a Democratic commentator who is really sharp, said Cantor ought to go full force with the time he has left and bring immigration to a vote and leave a legacy.

WHOA!!!! Just now on MSNBC...no chance of THAT...Cantor just announced he is stepping down. NOW. 12:13pm, CST.

45757. iiibbb - 6/11/2014 7:03:31 PM

quitter

45758. arkymalarky - 6/11/2014 9:21:55 PM

I hope you're right about the gerrymandering 3i. It's the most underestimated and underreported slam on democracy in a long list of threats, from CU to local coups by the Cokes et al.

45759. arkymalarky - 6/11/2014 9:22:40 PM

so eric cantor has confirmed all the suspicions that he is a spineless wonder.

Col. Pat Lang, a Virginian and intelligence wonk blogs on Cantor and the 7th District.
