Bill Maher offered her a million dollars Friday night...on live TV...and she twinkled at him but declined.

I think she's brilliant to do that...she KNOWS where best to spend her capital.

I. cannot. believe, this: John Bolton is considering running for President as a Republican.

John "Walrus Moustache" Bolton.

UPDATE: Thank god he came to his senses...sort of: Just a Threat

45936. vonKreedon - 5/15/2015 7:47:04 PM

Oh! I am sorry to hear that John "The Mustache" Bolton will not be appearing in the Republican debates. Would be must see TV.

45937. judithathome - 5/15/2015 8:09:52 PM

Trust me...it's still gonna be THAT!

45938. vonKreedon - 5/16/2015 1:40:40 AM

Yay! Perry is going to join the race!

Really messy down in Texas, not just because of the weather. It's exceedingly odd to jail random people for no legal cause, for months. Hope this mess gets straightened out soon. Do any of the Texas people here have an idea what's going on with these situations? Apparently there are something like 170 people being held for million dollar bail who weren't connected to the violence by any sort of evidence.

Baylor Graduate Sues

"The lawsuit says Clendennen, of Hewitt, a Baylor University graduate and local business owner who turned 30 two days after the shootout, has no prior criminal record and has suffered personal and monetary losses as a result of his arrest and detention.

"Broden says Clendennen's civil rights under the Constitution's 4th and 14th Amendment rights were violated by his illegal arrest and detention.....When fighting broke out in the parking lot of Twin Peaks, Clendennen took cover inside the restaurant and did not participate in any of the violence that led to nine deaths and 18 injuries, the suit says.

"Clendennen's arrest resulted in his ex-wife's filing to gain full custody of their children and that his continued detention may cause him to lose his business, the suit says.

"In order to arrest somebody in the United States, the Supreme Court has made clear that there must be individualized probable cause to believe that a particular person actually committed a crime. In this case, there was absolutely no evidence that Mr. Clendennen committed any crime", Broden said."

I wouldn't count on anything within the "legal" system in Texas being sorted out....the Governor is a former circuit judge and some of the verdicts HE handed down were disgraceful...so don't count on "justice" down here.

It is somewhat delightful that the more recalcitrant the Republicans become, the more they have been losing the fights where they've been drawing the lines.

Supreme Court Affirms Gay Marriage Rights

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." Martin Luther King, Jr.

45943. Trillium - 6/27/2015 5:46:30 AM

Hopefully MLK Jr.'s principles prevail in this case, which is odd:

Brian Bell

"Rev. Floyd Rose, who is black, is president of a local civil rights organization and originally backed the Johnson family. "You won't find a person of any reputation in this town who says that boy was murdered," he tells USA TODAY Sports. "Are there other injustices around here? You bet there are. But this is not one of them"

"Brian and his older brother, Branden, appear to have solid alibis for the time when Johnson was seen on school surveillance footage entering the gym on the afternoon of Jan. 10, 2013. Brian was in class and Branden was out of town for a wrestling tournament, law enforcement officials say."

Watching This Week on ABC and the way Donald Trump is defending his despicable comments about John McCain...yea for Martha Raddatz facing that asshole down. Link

This jerkoff actually seems to be asking Martha if it is "fair" that people attack his HAIR...and he states that he was not called to serve in Viet Nam due to bone spurs ....oh, bless your pathetic "patriotic" heart, asshole.

45945. vonKreedon - 7/21/2015 4:22:53 PM

I'm afraid that Trump is going to burn out before making the debates. In addition to denigrating McCain's service he also denigrated communion and the Christian need for forgiveness. He may not make it through the week.

45946. judithathome - 7/21/2015 9:42:08 PM

Are you kidding? He's STILL leading in the polls today!

And this, after his attack on Lindsey Graham! And giving out Graham's cell phone number!

People (questionable as to whether their IQs top double digits...) are loving his "bravado" in speaking "truth to power".

45947. vonKreedon - 7/24/2015 2:59:50 AM

He's angry and mouthy and rich and white and narcissistic, so he appeals to the maximalist conservatives who feel betrayed by the Repub party. But even they blanched at his attack on McCain's war record, and they despise McCain. It appears that Trump will make it to at least the first debate, so that's all good.

45948. judithathome - 7/24/2015 9:03:22 PM

Y'all HAVE to see this: Jon Stewart: Summer Trumpin'

45949. bhelpuri - 7/27/2015 6:11:10 AM

I must say I very much love seeing Trump lead the Republican polling by a super-wide margin. It is confirmation of everything I believe: that Party has been overrun by lunatics, they are deeply unserious, they cannot be entrusted with serious power. In effect, they are unelectable.

Of course, I am no great Clinton fan either. However, with her, the Repubs are going to see an actual game-changing liberal agenda (at home at least) which is much more left than anything they have been crying wolf about with regard the doggedly moderate, bridge-building Obama. These next few years are going to be fun to watch.

45950. bhelpuri - 7/27/2015 6:19:51 AM

As the last few months have indicated --> the immediate US culture wars are over. The progressives have won. If/when Clinton wins, we will have evidence of a comprehensive rout.

45951. judithathome - 7/27/2015 7:25:56 PM

Huckabee just "poo'd in his nest" to clean up an old Southern line that is used when someone makes a mess out of their surroundings...in this case, his hopes to become President.

Huckabee GOES There

45952. arkymalarky - 7/28/2015 12:13:45 AM

There's a reason the bumper sticker "shut the Huck up" was popular in AR when he was guv. His aw shucks RFD way is a very thin veneer that national media often buys because they haven't seen what Arkies have.

45953. judithathome - 7/28/2015 4:04:40 PM

Well, if anyone has any intelligence at all, they should see this charlatan for the yahoo he really IS: Who needs chemo when you have huckstering Mike on your side?
